This discussion is about the "intellectual property" of a flashlight with a 510 connector???

Check the ECF Modders forum from about 3, 3 1/2 years ago, mech mods are not "intellectual property" of any company, unless they are paying royalties to a lot of modders. The designs and "intellectual property" are very old. Etching a brand on to the design, in branding not a design improvement.

VV/VW suffer the same fate, early vaping was battery voltage only, modders developed VV, VW, PWM applications.

I own both clones and the real things, and love them both. In my experience, the real things are usually better in some way, be it in performance or looks. If your worried about a mod losing value, you probably shouldn't be buying high end mechs. They are just tools to me and I buy them to use, not trade or resell. The clones I have I bring to work with me so I can use and abuse them without worries (I work construction). The real things are for nights out and times that I want to use something that looks a little bit classy. The one mod that I think the clone makers should be paying royalties to would be the Nemesis, just for the bottom switch alone, it is a brilliant switch that is unique with the way it eliminates battery rattle just by snugging it up. No crazy telescoping pins to mess with. Having said that, I have 2 of the clones on order for work. I have Chi You and Vela clones and would consider buying the real thing if I could actually get my hands on one at retail pricing, which is virtually impossible. I am quite surprised at how worked up people get on this topic. Value and performance will lead the way whether you like it or not. Boycotts of products hardly ever work which leaves it in the hands of the mod makers to figure out. It's like art, you can own the original for a premium and enjoy every brush stroke, or buy a cheap copy for a much smaller price and a bit shallower experience.

haha nah, its not bout the king guys, its about knockoffs. this isnt a Chi-you vs king mod debate. who cares? they are the same mod.

if anyone is having a problem with the "king" reference, just replace "king" with "nemesis" or "chi you" or whatever you want lol.

All I'm concerned with is does it work well and will it last and the price. You all can fight over labels.

hey guys this has realy turned into a battle of economics. some people can afford the real deal so they buy it the right way but criticize the guy who cant afford it by saying they are fake. and others buy the copied cointerfeit replica version and complain about the price of the real one and then say that the people that can affort the mod are just trying to impress people. (afford, in this case meaning wanting to spend the $. if you have it you dont think about it if you like it) and then there is the people who are on either side of the spectrum and in the middle on their opinions about these mods.

I think everyone has come to the comon agreement that in this case, clones and exact replicas (fakes) arent necesarily too moraly offensive to us vapers becuause we just want to make sure everyone is vaping and not smoking!

i am new to the forum and i wanted to post one thread to see how it goes. didnt realy think too far into the origional quote, the main debate of the thread, and where this would lead.

i guess creating threads is not my thing! lol
