Not sure portertown. Mine does have the silver plated bottom spring as well as a silver plated pin in the push button.

No, I've not done the copper wire mod yet but I will be soon due to the positive reviews of that.

Mine was kicked at 10/11 watts the entire time. Maybe that's the cause of mine being more pronounced.

I just pulled out one of the contacts on mine, the one on the battery side. I use this mod pretty heavy @ 0.8Ω and was even using it with my 0.4 Ω dripper. I examined it using magnification and it shows no signs of use what so ever, this is the one with out the Noalox.
Once you establish a high resistance connection it become like a snow ball rolling down hill.

@ Portertown, how does the spring tension on the clone compare to your original?

If you are asking about the hot spring in the end cap, the clone spring was very much stronger, so much so I was afraid it was going to damage the battery.

If you are asking about the tension on the button, the clone is a little weaker. I think DaVapes used lower grade magnets. I am going to put grade 52 magnets in the clone. Magnets are 1/4" dia x 1/16" thick.

I'll pull mine back apart in a few days and check it again. Could have been a freak thing.

The battery spring was it.
I'm not too worried about the battery as much as the threads on the cap but it's a stiff one.

I just finished tailoring the fit of my shirt on my other DaVapes clone, on this one only a little was removed from the top of the brass switch body.
Both of them can still be locked just takes a little more effort, not much though.

Just curious, what was not fitting?

The shirt was moving around on the switch body unintentionally so I made it harder to move by making it fit tighter. The 510 cap butts up against it now.

It really didn't hurt anything being that way but it annoyed me a bit.

It's kind of hard to see and I really picked the wrong spot on the original pin but I took a jeweler's file to the end of it to see if it was *^%(* metal, it's yellow and slightly magnetic and I have no name for it, at least none that I can say here.

Use an electric drill or a Dremel, chuck up at least an inch or so. hold sand paper around it while spinning till the right O.D.
Wear safety glasses, maybe gloves it can get warm. Cut length just a fuzz longer than what you want and file it down to size.
Copper's pretty soft, a finger nail Emory board can even be used. Don't have any sticking outside the button.
