Poldiac users!

Ok i got a poldiac, but im having a bit of a problem. If i take my atomizer(rba) off the mod, i have to take the top cap off and raise the contact post before i screw the atomizer back on, otherwise it will not fire.

Has anyone heard of this happening? Is there a way to stop it from happening? I really love this thing, but this problem is very annoying!!!

Have you checked to see if everything is tightened down? I don't get how you take off the atty and when you screw it back on it doesn't work. My guess is that the poldiac pin is moving down while you unscrew the atty off. Make sure the pin inside the top cap is tight, as well as the top pin connector of the top cap

It just doesn't make sense when it works and when you take it off and place it back it stops working.

I also have a poldiac and have had no problems like this. If anything, I just needed to adjust the top pin to make contact with certain attys or to make it sit flush with the top which is normal since not all atomizers have the same connector length.

I just got a new UMA edition and my pin is real loose. I back it all the way out and then when I screw any atty down, but then the pin just screws down very loosely with the atty so I can't even line the atty up the way I want because its too loose. I have to screw the atty all the way down.
Is there a way to tighten it up from the backside of the pin so there is not that much play in the pin?

What I do is first tighten the screw (reverse threaded), then I do 1 full turn (to the right) and try my atty on to see if it 1) gets contact or 2) isn't flush. Depending upon that, I adjust 1/2 turn at a time until I get full connection and flush position. Sounds longer that what it is but once you get used to it, it's very fast.

Yes, my pin is VERY loose, there is really no way to tighten the action that i know of. Do you think if there was grease or something that it would not move as freely?

Well i know the process as I do this with other mods, but what I am saying is that it is too loose and if I wanted a gap or want to line my wick up with the button I can't because the pin is so loose that the atty wont tighten up unless it is screwed down all the way and the pin just turns with it.

grease or oil would probably make it worse.

Yes, my pin is VERY loose, there is really no way to tighten the action that i know of. Do you think if there was grease or something that it would not move as freely?

I read your posts man, possibly... your doing it wrong.

The adjustable pin on both the atty and battery side of the switch are reverse threaded. Reverse threaded... as in when you tighten down the atty you will be pushing on the pin; more specifically the torque transferred from the atty to the Poldiac's pin will be in the orientation to unscrew or raise that pin, not lower it.

There are two silver plated contacts in each side of the switch... one is threaded typical and one it reverse threaded... Use the reverse threaded contact to adjust atty height and clocking.

I am havin the same problem as mrjayd and for what its worth, my pins are NOT reverse threaded, which is weird because all the reviews i have read were that it was. I back the screw out by turning counter clockwise.

To reiterate, my problem is that when i back the screw out to make the connection, when i remove the atty and screw it back on, have to RE back the screw out, or else it wont make contact. The screw just does not stay where i back it out to - it follows the atomizer back down as i screw it on.

Does that make more sense?

Ok, i figured it out.
Turns out i had it all the way backed counter clockwise(lowest point) an by turning it more, the standard thread post beneath it backed out, thereby raising it.

when I got mine from a vape shop, dude said "turn it to the left" and I was going errrrr uhh, left?? dude?

So I got it home, then realized there was two contacts per side.

But yeah you just turn it clock wise and the contact that protrudes into the switch housing bottoms out, and then the second contact will began to adjust up. (for anyone else out there)

I agree, once I got the hang of that. cleaning and disassembly is a bit daunting at first but its not so bad

I teardown once a week and clean the contacts.

Im a big fan of the poldiac.

For new poldiac owners, the switch contacts are a two piece set. They come screwed together tight. So it is best to take them apart, screw the base in (clockwise) tightly, then screw the small top part in (counterclockwise) and adjust the small screw to align your atty.

I thought the contacts was one piece! duh
backed it out a bit now the atty stays on tight !
I was only using rda's on it cuz other attys would always be to loose

Bumping this old post because I've been having trouble with the Poldiac I picked up a couple weeks ago at VapeFest because I didn't understand that the center pin contact for the atty is actually two pieces. (The vendor I purchased from didn't mention it.)

I spent the last week adjusting the lower standard threading and then having it go out of position. I should have been adjusting the reverse threading all along!

I haven't had to adjust the lower contact (battery contact) at all. The bottom spring seems to do everything I need to keep my AW IMR 18490 in good contact.

Wish I'd seen this earlier!
