Taylor County (WV) Board of Health bans smoking, but waits until afterward to notify Commissioners and affected businesses
Mountain Statesman Smoking ban opponents pack commission chamber

Seems like there is a lot of dysfunction in Taylor County.

Don't know if Taylor County's smoking ban includes a ban on e-cigarette use, but the WV Health Dept stauncly opposes e-cigarette use, and last year WV Health Dept employee Christina Mickey (featured in this news article) attended and testified in support of the Ohio County (WV) Board of Health's proposed smoking ban (that included a ban on e-cig use), that was subsequently withdrawn by the Board of Health due to extensive public opposition.

Taylor County's Board of Health doesn't have a website, and just 16,000 folks (AKA hillbillies) live there.

Small town politics, 3 board members post info in out of the way places, hold meeting, all in favor say aye, passed. Someone call the commissioners and tell them we have a smoking ban. Meeting closed.

Would be funny if it wasn't true in a lot of places, they can be worse than some homeowner associations.

That's exactly what our school board did this past year- to include ecigs under the no-smoking policy.
I was astounded as I saw it on TV one night...that was Feb...still no announcements to the schools....
Only one thing I noticed was different when I went back to work 2 days ago- Instead of saying Smoke Free Environment, it now says tobacco Free Environment on all doors leading into our schools.

Does that mean that workers cannot use the "patch" or "Nicotine gum?"
