That's typical of poly-fil. You can clean it occasionally, but it'll still do it.

Take a look around this Cart mods forum at some of the other options - pyramid tea bag material, blue filter foam and even the silicone plug. All much better than poly. There are even a few poly-fil mods that can make the poly-fil function better. Professor Daffy uses a bent piece of plastic and there is a method using a tiny straw to allow the liquid to flow better. There are a ton of threads here.

if that is the stuff that is in a cart when you buy it does it just wear out or something? i used to get aewsome vapor and now its slowly diminishing do i have to clean it every once and a while? it seems like most of the time it wont let it all out when i pull it out it is full just the tip is dry...

Theres the common reason why alot of people are looking for alternatives to using the regular polyfil cart filler.

Look around this forum for a better cart filler.. since i'll get slammed by everyone here if i mention what you should use wait for others to tell you or see my signature below! lol.

Though, yes you can just buy more polyfil as its cheap and you can get a huge bag of it at walmarts. You only want to use a little bit so it wont hold you juice from wicking.. but not too little or it will leak.

well some one suggested i just take the polyfill that is in there originaly and cut it in half down the middle and spread it out and put it back in and wow it works a million times better now :) ima give the blue slug a try next time i go to walmart
:)

I've heard others say that Walmarts dont carry it.. but wont hurt to look. They have other sizes available from marineland, like Z,C,B heh so on and so on.. Everything else i've seen is different stuff and not foam. Its like Fluval. Dont buy it unless its Rite Size U.

I got mine at Walmart. Its like in the sewing section. Poly fil batting material. Comes in a big huge bag for like 4 or 5 bucks. Will last you a lifetimes worth.. lol

Michaels or other shops like that should have it. Any sewing type stores, etc.

I used all the methods out there and some are good and ok. I just think poly is easiest for me. Works/
