I have both on the way, intended for use on the provari p3 when it comes out. I have terrible luck with kayfuns and I run a reo grand with a trident v2 at 0.32 ohms. It gets pretty wild lol. It'll be interesting to compare. I like the looks of the pontus, and it's smaller if I'm not mistaken? But if the big dripper works better, then that's what I'll use and maybe even order an authentic
I doubt you'll be dissapointed. The BD has great flavor due to the length from the cone tapered chamber to the mouth piece and I'm a lung hitter so it fits my style perfect. You can set it for great lung hits or easily slide the afc closed a bit to tighten the draw for those mouth to lung vapers. It's a long device but it's so clean looking and performs so well for me that who the heck cares. At this point in my vaping journey it's all about flavor, vapor and functionality and not so much looks. The easiest way I find to fill the BD up all the way is to have a syring or poly bottle with a luer lock needle and just slowly unscrew the tank portion from the outer afc control. As you SLOWLY unscrew it you wil just start to feel it release and while keeping pressure on the spring, you will keep the post with oring from popping up and out of the chimney. Then you can just slightly lean it enough to fill with the luer lock and get the full capacity you want. After you fill, the plunger and spring will not need to be realigned because it has not come out of the chimney all the way and you can just screw it back down. EASY PEAZY.

My views are one sided because I haven't mess with the BD yet, but I used to own the Pontus. I picked up the v1.5 when it first hit the shelves. My experience was very negative from the start.

I used my modified tobh deck to avoid cutting the airflow tabs so I could center build. Note that I was running dual 26ga 3/32 dia coils wicked with Rayon at around 0.3ohm (I like a warmer vape) and my juice is 80vg/20pg.

The one that I had never really worked 100% correctly. The push drip would literally only drip the first 3-5 times pushing it. After that, nothing. To get around that, I removed the fill screw and dripped through that. One push would flood the deck.

The airflow (for me) was too tight. I am used to lung hitting even with my fogger v4.1, but this one just didn’t feel right. There was also a HUGE flavor loss comparing it to my fogger running the same coils, wick, and juice.

The location of the juice delivery holes right next to the air tube make sucking up juice very easy, so there was lots of gurgling. There is also a "juice catcher" under the drip tip that would constantly fill up.

I do have a friend with a v1 who after getting the deck airflow tabs dremeled off and opening up the airflow to a Cyclops, loves it. For what it is, I will stick with my fogger or wait until I can justify waiting a month for another fasttech order for the BD.

Just my .02

Is it possible to fill the Big Dripper with a needle syringe through the feed hole on the bottom of the tank?
No. The feed hole is too small for any luer lock needles I've seen.
If you unscrew the afc base while upside down and unscrew it slowly so when it releases you can still hold spring tension and keep the oring seal. Then like I mentioned prior, it is just a matter of shifting the tank to the side slightly (while still compressing the spring) and filling to your hearts desire. I use heavy vg (50/50, 60/40 and full vg) and it saturates with 1 plunge on the 50/50 and 60/40. Full vg for me takes two presses since it feeds a little slower.

Pontus arrived today. It's definitely not a major flavor chaser, but it works very well for what it is. I'm enjoying it more than my Kayfun, so as of right now, I'm happy. My main gripe is that the tank doesn't fit very tight on the base, so I think I'm going to remove the base o-rings, put a layer of teflon tape on where the o-rings go, and put the o-rings back on. I think this will tighten everything up pretty nice, because it doesn't seem like it's very safe in my pocket. I feel like it's all going to come apart.

This however wouldn't be near as huge of a disaster as when my Kayfun came completely apart and leaked all 4+ mls of juice in to my pocket. Not a good day

Sorry to hear that you feel it's lacking in the flavor dept.
My experience is the opposite. I feel it has some of the best flavor of all my atomizers. Could be the build though. Goes to show you taste is all subject.

Oh and my o rings are snug as a bug. So no issues like yours.
Glad you're enjoying it though.

Well, I just retired my BD clone after a week of use. My buddy offered to buy it, as well as my authentic BD from GVS, if I don't like it when it arrives.

The BD clone from Vape95 is a great Dripper, which I enjoyed. However, when vaping side by side with a Reo/Odin combo, the BD did not afford the same consistent flavor hit after hit after hit, which I have become accustomed to.

Nonetheless, it's still a great device. It performs exactly like any good RDA should.

Yep, nothing beats a reo. I could crank some serious flavor out of the pontus. I'd probably do like a 0.28 build or so and it works be phenomenal, but I worry it would auto drip with that kind of heat. It would probably still be fine, but the p3 can only handle 0.7 ohms

Use dental floss under the orings instead of Teflon tape. It will fit in the groove better and you should only need one strand.

I got my Pontus yesterday and built it last night. Running a 0.4 ohm dual twisted 28 gauge build at 50 watts and it has decent flavour and throat hit. It's no Magma / Veritas, but it's not bad. I like the glass tank and refilling it from the bottom is easy. I don't use the fill screw -- I just unscrew the base and fill it straight into the glass tank. Overall, it works as advertised and I really don't have any complaints.

Were you dropping your coils down directly in front of the cyclops holes on your BD? I mean perfectly even with the holes.
I did three builds on my BD with the coils in front but slightly higher and the flavor was really good, but on the fourth build I pushed the coils deeper so they were even with the afc holes and wow, what a difference. Better flavor than my magma and 454.
