Poor experience with customer service/shipping

I am not doubting they are a great company. im sure all of you have great experience with them. i have read that they are a good vendor, which is why i decided to try them out.

my gripe: i place an order on a thursday. received shipping confirmation on the next day, friday. one would assume from receiving a shipping confirmation with tracking number that the package was actually given to usps.

monday was a holiday. tuesday was not. i verified that the package was not shipped until wednesday.

my problem is not that the package took so long to ship. i can understand that.

my problem is that i was led to believe the package shipped, and it did not ship until 5 days after that. without any notification from the vendor.

does that make any sense to anyone??????

No. I don't think you were "led to believe" anything. You got an automated tracking number, meaning your Thursday order was processed on Friday. It did not go out on Friday, for whatever reason. The next day it could've gone out was Tuesday, but madvape said there was no postal pick-up that day. So it went out on Wednesday. He apologized and gave you a discount for your next order. I still don't think this qualifies as "poor" or "less than competent."

I just placed my first order with madvape. I chose them mostly because of recommendations on this site (and their prices are much lower than the vendors I've used before).

Order placed on January 18
Electronic Shipping Info Received January 19, 2011 -
Shipment Accepted January 19, 2011 - 12:13 pm
Processed through Sort Facility January 19, 2011 - 7:34 pm
Arrival at Post Office January 21, 2011 - 7:38 am
Delivered January 21, 2011 - 9:37 am

At the very most, you lost one business day.

If MVs software is anything like what I use for shipping, the minute the button is pressed to create a lable, the tracking information is sent out. That does not mean that USPS is there to pick it up. If that were the case, they would spend all their time running in and out :)
Here is the situation as I see it:
You placed an order,
MV filled the order the next day and created shipment profile with tracking number
Now we have no way of know what time on Fri the shipment was packed and entered
BUT, the next business day was TUES. and USPS failed to pick up that day presumably due to weather.
SAT, SUN, AND MON (MLK DAY) were NOT BUSINESS days.
The failure here seems to be that the USPS cannot do their job properly, but we already knew that.
So your basic complaint as I understand it is that you were not notified...IF the USPS would put down in their
tracking system "we are a bunch of idiots and no longer believe in the Postal Creed" you might of had some notification.

I have dealt with Mad Vapes for almost a year now (they were my very first supplier) and they have always had excellent customer service and gotten my orders out quickly.....on the other hand, it seems that USPS cannot get me a Priority package any less than 4 days after they pick it up.... That is not Mad Vapes fault........

Mad Vapes Rocks.
