Hi
I've been reading, reading, reading .. but I just don't know what I'm
doing wrong. New coil heads just peter out after about 1 1/2 clearos. So
that after a couple of puffs there is almost no vapor, its not hot and
harsh, just not there. Its like when I first started vaping and was
drawing too much air, and too fast, and got very little vapor. I've
tried a freshly charged battery with nor much improvement.

My setup: Top coil CE4 style, ~2.5 ohm, 3.7v.
I'm vaping strong flavors coffee, cigar, mint etc, ~60%VG.
I've read that thick/dark liquids clog wicks. But this is ridiculous.

How often should I need to replace the coil head with a clean one?

What type of wick is best for my juice?

Or is there a mod that would make them work better:
* should I unravel the wick into separate strands
* should I remove some strands or shorten them
* do something else?

I've tried cleaning the heads (alcohol and boiling water) but they only
last ~1/2 clearo before they stop working.

In fact, the juice in the clearo seems to get thicker as the clearo
empties, so by ~1/3 full its like treacle.

You should choose the coil which have two separate wicks (one is coiled and another is free). Try to short your wick a little (just a little if you short it to much, you will have a leakage). Use a scissors then cut a little "v shape" (upside down "v shape") at the place where the silicon sleeve contacts with the silica wick. You must thin your juice (use PG or alcohol). When you vaping, just tilt your clearomizer so the juice is always contact with the silica wick. But you see, all CE clearomizers will not satisfies you, vapor is poor, flavor is not "real", sometimes you also get a disgusting burnt taste and you will also have leakage. Upgrade it, you can buy many different kinds of clearomizer that work great such as T2, T3, Protank, Vivi Nova, etc... if you like clearomizers .

I had this problem and solved it by using a vivi nova. They are cheap and easy to rebuild. I do find I rebuild them frequent but the wick and wire is dirt cheap and this guarantees you get fresh wicks. I rebuild too much because i rebuild if I plan to use a different flavor just to make it pure. There are many good videos to help with this on youtube frm members here. You can get Vivi Nova as cheap as a clearomizer if you shop around. Also this makes refills less frequent as they hold more juice.
