I hate that so many people mix it up. I personally wouldn't want to even use it for that. Just cause the other thing I enjoy that is legal there in colorado, has good medicinal qualities to it as well and I would rather get all of them in me rather then just what messes you up. lol Now lets can the talk on this cause I know they frown apon it on here. lol. Sorry mods.
For me it is a vaporizer and it is important people understand the difference. Lots of things ment for one thing can be used for other stuff. I have gotten similar responses from people though. Had one women at the food pantry I got to sometimes ask me if it was to help me breath. lol. I explained what it is and how it works. She didn't like the sound that I was still vaping nicotine but she was glad I was off cigarettes and am doing better. A lot of people unfortunately just only know the false rumors that go around and it takes a while before they accept that vaping isn't really that bad for you and that the rumors are false. In the short term at least this is a lot better for us. No idea on the long term already but i get the feeling it is better as well. lol
Yeah, it was very hard for me not to educate these people. Especially the one who said we take in a lot more nicotine than we would if smoking.
Most everyone was wide open to them but it's not hard to find someone who has been grossly misinformed. Especially a smoker who is looking for every reason not to quit, they're the ones that seem to immediately grasp on to the first piece of information they hear, whether it be true or false. I had one of them tell me that e-juice contains pig hooves, just like the rumors about gum. If you'll notice, every single non-smoker reported and incidentally interviewed, had positive things to say about them. It was 5 of the 25 smokers surveyed that had wonderful falsities to claim, oddly enough 4 of those 5 were female. I am not speculating as to why, just another interesting result.
This survey spurred results that prompted a few other surveys: a) Whether smokers underreport how many cigarettes they are smoking a day b) Whether non-smokers just think they see another person smoking when they are truly vaping c) Whether male or female smokers view PV's more negatively. If someone else has some free time, I'd love to see a current study done on those!
If I ever find the time to report the rest of the survey results, I'll be sure to. I tried to pick 10 that were representative of the 50 I surveyed.
So, I ended up just typing up the report. I seem to be gaining a little more positivity from my professor (of which is one of the survey participants and indicated positively for PV's because they helped several of her friends quit cigarettes). I think she was just worried althat she may get in trouble with the school but there's no way that could happen. I think all will be well.
