I bought both my mom and my husband shorty kits. One battery in hubby's kit will no longer take a charge and is dead as a doorknob. One battery in Mom's kit acts possessed.

Her battery will activate on its own randomly. I have it with me right now with one of my cartos on it. I heard my carto sizzling and looked at it; sure enough, the battery had *turned itself on*. I took the carto off to prevent it burning up, grabbed my phone and took a couple of pics. The battery stayed on the whole time.

I will be sending an email for replacements for both batt. But, I also wanted some input on what could be causing this particular batt to act this way. Anyone else run into this with an auto batt?

I'm glad I had this out where I could catch it and not in my pocket.

Yes, that thread describes what this battery is doing. I didn't watch the vid but did read the first page of posts
Difference is in that video and that battery were a manual where yours is an auto..
I believe there was a ton of good advice on that for autos..mainly it seemed to be a faulty sensor of some sort..
That can happen apparently from the battery having been dropped or juice getting inside the battery and switch..
Been so long now I don't remember what the cure was for it though...lol...other than getting a replacement..

lol..that's cool I just had to chime in since well that was my battery and thread..lol..

sort of on the upside on that one...I put it aside to continue to blink and die and was gonna ship it to someone else for disassembly and examination purposes...and my fiance mistakenly thought she was helping me out and put it on a charger...shich I didn't discover til 2 days later...was afraid to use it...but wanted to drain it before shipping (didn't want an envelope blinking blue at random intervals (didn't think USPS would be down with that)...but in working on draining it again it has not once started to do that again...charged it again and drained it again (to see if it was a fluke) and still no problems....still not real confident in it to trust it completely so I'm still gonna send it off but was an interesting observation..

I had a 401 auto knock off "clean cig" that started acting weird--flashing and flickering, I thought it was running low so i charged it. got the green light took it off put the atomizer & cart on and it started burning, quickly screwed off the atomizer. I then realized i had likely dripped some juice in the automatic hole. i tried wiping out and shaking out the juice inside and thing kept flickering and then started getting hotter and hotter.

i tried cleaning out the hole with a little pin. but it started to stink like frying electrical short. I quickly put it in a ceramic coffee cup i had at hand--thinking the battery might explode and it kept sputtering and getting hotter and hotter. the little plastic led started to melt and i took it outside. bunch of fumes came off and it stank really nasty.

definitely a fire risk. don't leave it anywhere near anything flammable etc.

not sure how or if you can send it back to the seller but I would use a lot of caution.

This is exatly an issue, when you drip liquid into battery, it is YOUR fault for ruining it. These are not made to accept liquid, they break. At V4L we are more willing to help than ANYWHERE else. Even when it is our customer who broke the battery.

Most of our forum customers, refill cartomizers, and many overfill, to the point where they no longer work. We believe in helping, and exchanging, but, NOT in being taken advantage of:wub:

Enjoy

Steve:cool:

As I have said, and done, we Treat our customers, like family....please do the same for us:rolleyes: If it is YOUR fault, buy a new one, and do not take advantage of our warrantee, so you do NOT ruin it in the future for others:D

I also had a similar issue with an auto shorty. The assembled device was in my hand and I noticed the batt had activated on its own and the cart was sizzling. I immediately took the carto off and to turn off the batt, I blew into the battery. My logic was sucking caused the batt to activate, hence blowing would turn it off. It worked, but now I am more careful with that particular battery. It happened 1 more time after that, too.

I have put in for a replacement on both batteries. The one that activates randomly was for my mother as I have stated. She is a correctional officer and can't keep checking to see if the battery has activated while on the job. With her keeping her cigs in her pocket along with analogs for backup and a lighter, I don't feel safe about it.

As for the battery that will no longer take a charge; it is hubby's. He, too, keeps his cigs in his pocket and can easily use up 2 shorties in a day's time. He really needs a 3rd battery and I will be getting him a 3rd just as soon as I can.
