This has been on my heart and in my mind to post this. I'm not trying to offend in any way, but a revelation was given to me and I wanted to share it, and get other opinions.

I watched a movie the other day where people were receiving exorcism. Now this religion believes that the original sin is washed away upon a baby being christened, and salvation received upon confirmation on or about the 12 year old mark.

My question is, how can a person be possessed with a demon if they are supposed to be saved? So, I went to my wonderful Book from God to back up my position.......because God and a demon cannot reside in a person at the same time. I found my answer in Matthew 12:22-30.

(22) "Then one was brought to Him that was demon possessed, blind and mute; and He healed him so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw. (23) And all the multitudes were amazed and said, "Could this be the Son of David?" (24) Now when the Pharisees heard it they said, "This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of he demons." (25) But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. (26) If satan casts out satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand? (27) And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges. (28) But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you. (29)Or how can one enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house. (30) He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad."

So, how can someone be truly saved and get demon possessed? They can't. Darkness cannot survive being in the Light. Now I do believe that true Christians can be oppressed until they can become depressed. I've lived through that in the past and I am sure it'll happen again. But, Jesus teaches me something new all the time..........inquiring minds want to know!!! What do you all think about what I proposed? :)

I agree 100%. I believe in what His Word says. BTW, perfect Scripture quotes! I once knew a chaplain that believed that a Christian could be posessed. I was amazed he actually believed it! He was convinced he was right, so I didn't debate the issue with him. But I did pray for him to be delivered from that lie.

I recently had a discussion with a relative of mine about whether it is possible for a "curse" to be "put" upon people. Again, in the case of a Christian, I believe it isn't possible--because we are protected by the shed blood of Jesus. There is nothing that can defeat or overcome Jesus' Blood!!!!!!! Hallelujah!!!!!!! I'm sure curses have been tried before, but without success!! Amen!!!!!!!

However, I do believe it can happen to non Christians. And I fervently pray for their deliverance!!

Great post, Lady L!! I hope others will post their thoughts and opinions.

Putting a curse on someone.....that's an interesting point, as I invisioned a voodoo doll and pin!!!!! LOL! I believe that all of our adversity is put upon us by satan....sort of like a curse, but he is a thief and a liar.......sometimes we falter, but Jesus helps us back on our feet. For a Blood Bought Born Again child of the Living God, satan knows he cannot hurt God, so he hurts those that God loves. The Lord is with us every step of the way when adversity hits. Like my husband, adversity just slapped him upside the head, and as he attempted to get up, he was slapped down again, and again, and again. You know what? Jesus helped him every step of the way as he almost died 3 times. When his liver failed, they weren't sure he'd make it through the night....when he went into respiratory failure and was put on a ventilator, the doctors didn't think he'd make it. So, instead of your curse telling you how big he is, tell your curse how big your God is!

It can be difficult to get the strength to tell your adversary to watch out, because when your body is weak, your spiritual strength can take a beating, too. Sometimes, when the pain is crushing, you just want to curl up in a ball and die. Been there, done that and have a full wardrobe of t-shirts and full set of coffee mugs. That is why being with other Christians is so important as they give you strength and prayers for recovery. You just can't have too many prayers! And they need you, too!

I love all of you, even the ones who read these posts and don't respond. It's okay. Learn, read, and believe in Jesus Christ who took upon Himself the sins of the world, from the beginning of time up until this moment. His love for you knows no boundaries. Invite Him into your heart today. It's a decision I made almost 27 years ago and I've NEVER regretted it once. :)

Awesome posts ladies.... I'm in complete agreement. ;)

SISTER CUZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! {{{{{{{{{{{HUG}}}}}}}}}

I apologize for being absent for so long. Husband has been through the wringer, and when your spouse is in the wringer, you are there as well. He hasn't been able to work since October 2011. MRSA and all the wonderful aftermaths have kicked his hiney parts......and he turned the other cheek as well and it didn't help!!!! LOL! It has trashed his system and he's on milk thistle, ginseng, probiotics, yogurt, fruit, and protein......he loves his meat and potatoes! He is better than he's been in MANY months. Everyday is a blessing and his system is rebuilding a brick at a time....BUT his cornerstone is Jesus and he will get there! When he got sick, I figured 6 months to get back on his feet, but my calculations weren't near correct. We've talked to other people who have had MRSA, and some of them are still trying to rebuild after a year.

We've been together 24/7 for over 6 months and on a scale of 1-10, we have gotten used to being around each other and are closer than ever and appreciate each other more. That's one of those 'God' things that doesn't make sense to the secular community.:blink: :2cool:
