I don't watch any of those movies. I tried to watch that Mel Gibson movie and walked out after a few minutes. I haven't watched another one since that is supposed to be about Biblical stories.

The biggest reason I watch these Movies is they're very 'telling'. Hollywood has an inside 'pulse' with the Devil, and it's interesting to see what the Devil's up to.

(Deception's always in the mix!) :glare:

There's a Scripture that I believe supports along this line of thought.

.
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the middle of wolves: be you therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.- Matthew 10:16

I used to do that also. Now I don't have anything to do with them or organized religion.

The Passion of the Christ was the best depiction of Jesus' last 24 hours I have ever seen. The first time I watched it, on opening night, I wanted to shout out a whoooo hooooo, stand up and start clapping! The Holy Spirit told me 'No.' Yes, there was a slant on it that I don't agree with, but you have to take into consideration of who Mel Gibson is.............and then we all got an ear full of who Mel Gibson is, along with the other. The whipping that Mel portrayed wasn't Scriptural as it says that Jesus was unrecognizable as a man. I think what grabbed my heart was the actual pain level was so intense. You could see it instead of just reading the words. It was more of an impact to see it. When it was over, all 7 times I went, you could hear a pin drop.

The only other depiction that I have always loved is 'Jesus of Nazareth.' But, that's all. None others. Well, I liked Ben Hur and the Ten Commandments, both of them starred Charlton Heston. Both of those were major productions and done back when you had to follow specific guidelines.:)

Were you guys aware that the Actor (Jim Caviezel) who played the role of JESUS in "The Passion of the Christ" almost DIED during the making of that Film? Yep, I saw him do an Interview at "Holyland Experience" here in Orlando and he stated that during the Filming of the Crucifixion scene that he had contracted Pneumonia during the making of the Movie and that he was really having a 'hard time' on that Cross. Mel Gibson actually asked him did he want to continue his physical condition was becoming so dire. He was ALMOST struck by lightening during that same scene! He said it was FREEZING where they were filming, and that he was so committed to portraying Christ's suffering that he said a silent prayer that if GOD wanted to take him, to take him. He would hang there on the Cross either way and complete the Movie. Amazing Man hunh? His initials are JC, (as in Jesus Christ), and he was also (coincidentally), 33 years old when Mel interviewed him to play the Role. He said Mel about dropped the Phone during that conversation!!! :lol:

Here's a LINK to another Interview Jim gave about playing the role of Jesus in the Film that's similar to the one I heard at Holy Land - Jim Caviezel Talks About Playing Christ in 'The Passion'

Here's some more info (from 2011) that you Guys may find interesting about Jim;

I love Jim Caviezel. I even watch Person of Interest. I loved him in Frequency, but my all time favorite is The Count of Monte Cristo. I watched all of his interviews on The Passion. He endured a great deal and yes, his life was in danger many times, plus he had to learn Aramaic. Until the movie, I didn't realize that the battle, before going to the cross, was won in the garden. Big duh!! He portrayed that excellently! That movie came the closest to showing what Jesus went through in those last hours. Every time I watched it, I shook my head saying, "I can't watch this again!" But I couldn't help myself. It was like Jesus was at the mall and I just had to be there. But that's just me. I bought the movie and I've seen it only once since then. I know Jesus is here with me. I wanted a copy so that if the rapture is sooner rather than later, it will be here for viewing by whomever comes after us.

I know Cuz! I own this Movie too, but I still can't watch the beating and the Crucifixion.. can't bear to watch it at Holy land Experience either. I don't know, I've witnessed the "Passion" for over fifty years, and for me it never gets any easier to view.

Yeah, me too. Every time, it absolutely breaks my heart, and I can't really watch it. I owe Jesus everything, and the least I can do is watch His story/biography and tell people the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! He is Good News in comparison to living under the law!! We are to take His Gospel to all the world. Each of us has a part in the Great Commission. We just need to ask Almighty God what our part is in His plan. God is always faithful to answer. :)

    I already did my part, I open my eye's and asked God to forgive me and He filled me with the Holy Spirit who leads me, I just follow and hang out with Him and He reveals His plan to me. Though I do admit to being stubborn and at times thinking I know what's best - -

    OH BOY WHAT CAN I SAY. :facepalm:
