After a few days of online research on the ecig, I've decided I would like to try one out. Didnt really know which to buy, but once again, after some more online research I found that a really good percentage of pilot users had an overall good experience with the ecig.

After reading a couple reviews and finding some notable differences that the Pilot has ( 4 hole atomizer vs 2 hole in the DSE901) I have decided that I would go with this model, from puresmoker.com since they seem to have provided reliable and good service.

Being a poor college student, I only have about 100 to work with (excluding shipping). Im planning on ordering the starter kit, syringe, and 5ml 16mg of 555 ejuice, to begin with and eventually extra carts, batts, and atomizers.

Ive read up on dripping, dry smoking, and refillling carts and Im willing to learn other maintainence techniques as nessecary.

I guess the overall question I have here is if there is any last piece of info i should be aware of before i committ to this. Maybe even if ecigs will remain legal in the next couple of months, and if this investment is worth it (because then supplies will be impossible to get).

So if there is any reccommendation/advice anyone can offer please share your wisdom! Everyone here seems to be supportive! :)

The M-401 is a great device, especially if you want a small ecig that looks like a cig.

The 4-hole atomizer thing is a bit misleading because the four holes actually draw through 1 hole through the battery and down the central hole joining the atomizer. The DSE 901's with 2 hole make less vapour there is a youtube video with a scotsman demostrating how covering one of the holes fixes this for the 901.

The m-401 carts are tiny but drain well by the atomizer, better that the 901 I'm told. Be sure to get some liquid to refill or drip directly with either. I own an M-401 and penstyle, I chose the M-401 over the 901 becasue I have the penstyle 801 which is basically a bigger 901. If chose just one knowing what I know now I would probably get the 901 because it has the best of both: Small size, decent capacity carts and cheap spare parts. If you do get the M-410 then down the track a penstyle is the perfect companion The M-401 battery is better I'm told than the 901 but also more expensive and takes longer to charge so if you get a spare charger and batteries with the 901 this can compensate.

I get my stuff from Heaven Gifts, great prices for the 901 (in black too) and really cheap liquid and spare parts, plus warranty on parts. He'll have the M-401 is a day or two as well.

I'm not affiliated with Wayne or anything but have been very impressed with him so far.

The biggest pain with the M401 is dripping in the cartridge. You almost have to push the cup holding the nic juice up out of the holder so you don't make a mess. Half the time I don't bother and try to hit the recessed cup. Then I blow out any excess juice from the fill side out the little hole onto a napkin. I still get an occasional bit of juice in my mouth this way.

You can use a paper clip and try to get the juice to run down the paperclip wire into the cartridge. If you're doing that, you might as well push the cup up so you can see what you are doing.

I've also seen bottles with long syringe like tubes that would allow you to hit the cup without pushing the cup up. (Think of a miniature spot oil can.) I draw the line at carrying a syringe around with me. I'm just not going to do it.

To be honest, your first couple days with it will probably suck as you learn to use it and break it in. Once you get that down, you will be fine. Some order suggestions I would make...

1 - starter kit (ask for 2 long batts) $49.95
1 - extra atomizer $10.99
1 - Cash eJuice sample pack $34.99

Optional, but if you can swing it...

1 - long battery $15.99
1 - 5 pack carts $4.95

With 5% off coupon code (pure5ref) and free shipping your total should be $111.03. If you are a light smoker, you could go without the extra battery and probably the carts, but you should shoot for the $100 mark for the free shipping. The syringe is unnecessary IMO and should you later decide you must have, easily obtainable locally. HTH

would you happen to know of any videos that demonstrate this? I wasnt aware of a cup on the end of the cart that holds the juice in. thanks!!

Just got the evolution which I think is a similar design to the 401.... I initially tried to fill the cart without getting the cup out.... big mistake and a mouthful of liquid... then I asked the supplier (should have done that first.....

Its pretty easy... use a paperclip and from the end you suck on, push the paperclip through that which will push out the cup.... drip onto the material and then push the cup back in... I used the end of the paperclip on the edge to push back in as well...

I use the paperclip method as well, only I use the rubber cap thing that came on the cart to push the cup back down.

Today is my first day trying to use a 401. I've already ruined 2 carts trying to pop the cup out. When I put the paperclip in the mouth hole and push, it just pokes a hole in the bottom of the cup. What exactly do I need to be doing differently?

Someone else had a similar problem. Don't remember if it was resolved or not. Mine are all the older small carts with the stick and slide right out. Yours may be a different design.

You could try just sticking the paperclip or a long needle in and letting the juice run down. I have a pretty steady hand and usually just drip to the center.

My DH and I just received our 402's from Absoulutely e-cigs.com. Same product WAY cheaper (starter kit 29$)
They're making juice now too and the long nose on the bottle fits right down in the small carts so no need for paperclips.

OOPS that should be 39$ for the kit...quitting analogs seems to have affected my typing...
