I have been using the vapor chef for most of my time vaping and typically order 50/50 mixes.
Symptoms I'm having:
-flushed/warm sensation in the face, mild redness around neck/chest/face
-itchiness on the face particularly around my eyes (contact lenses are starting to dry up really quickly in my eyes)
-extremely dry throat/nose
-sinus pain/headaches particularly around my forehead

These symptoms are starting to worsen over time and I'm not sure if it is some other type of medical condition or if it could possibly be related to eliquid and an allergy. Any way to be sure? Anyone else report any of these symptoms? I'm a little stumped at this point and am not sure how to figure out what exactly is causing the problem.

First of all, nobody here is a doctor. You should always see your physician for medical concerns.

However you could be experiencing a slight allergy to either PG or VG. Some people have issues with higher blends of either even at 50/50. I personally can't vape anything over 90VG/10PG although I am a huge fan of 100% VG. You can search the forums for PG allergy, etc to see what other people have experienced and make a more informed decision.

I would try vaping different blends to see if it gets better, or hopefully not, worse. You can always order a small bottle of something with higher VG to see if it's the PG and vice versa.

As always, keep yourself well hydrated with water and this alone should help to ease the symptoms. Maybe see the doc as you could just be experiencing pollen / other non-vape related allergy or even a flu! Feel better :)

Are you sure you're hydrated enough? That sounds like a need for more water, from my experience (I'm not a doctor). I would play around with different PG/VG ratios, though, to see if it improves.

When I had an allergic reaction to juice, I broke out in hives, started itching all over (starting with my face & neck, then moving down), felt sick, etc. I am sensitive to too much PG in my e-liquids, though, and anything over about 20% PG makes my throat hurt, gives me headaches, etc.

I've had the symptoms you listed, and it was usually solved by drinking more water, except when it was my seasonal allergies flaring up. I'm not saying that's your problem, but it doesn't hurt to try it. If it continues, I would switch to a different PG/VG blend, and if it gets any worse, I would suggest seeing a doctor to check for allergies.

If it is an allergy, it's probably not to PG (though it could be, PG allergies are kind of rare, and PG is found in most personal care products like deodorant so you probably would be reacting to things like that as well), but it could be to a certain flavor or something.

Again, I'm not a doctor, just sharing my :2c: because of my own experiences.

I started vaping 8 months ago and purchased a couple of bottles of 50/50 mix. Within 6 days I had red welts on my chest and stomach. I stopped vaping completely for 10 days to let them get better. After a lot of Internet research, I found that about 5% of people are allergic to inhaled PG, which was the case for me. I have since gone completely 100% VG and haven't any problem since. Before this, I had never had an allergic reaction to anything.

Allergies can be very serious and in some cases can be fatal, as in the case with blocked airways. I'm not a physician, but be very careful when you start to notice changes in your body. I had a small amount of itching, but the welts came on me very quickly.

You have a PG allergy or sensitivity. (No, I'm not an MD). If you switch into 100% VG e-juice, your symptoms will in all likelihood, disappear. (No, I can't guarantee it, but I will guarantee the dehydration issues will disappear - at least they did for me). GRAS list or not, PG isn't meant to be inhaled. VG is far safer than PG; that is, if either one of them is safe. Some folks tolerate PG better than others, but there are no long-term studies for either, and the human body is generally an incredibly well-built machine that's resistant to breaking down (until it's overwhelmed). As you should know, the unpleasant symptoms are your body's way of giving you feedback... so changes are definitely in order. Is it possible you have a sensitivity to VG instead of PG? Of course, but probably not. Everything you've described, that I had in common also - went away when the PG did. An easy fix (hopefully). Good luck with it.

It could be one of many things. pg. vg, not enough water intake. flavorings used in the juices you inhale.

If you want to isolate it to pg or vg I would do this/ buy some vg (walmart sell it, humco brand) and a small amount of pg from one of many diy vendors out there. it is cheap.

Use a small amount of just pg in your atty and vape it. then use the vg. use each one for a while to isolate which it may be causing you problems. If one or the other is the culprit you should know pretty quick.. If neither, then you are most likely sensitive to a flavoring in the juices you are using.

Just my 22 cents. i have found i am very sensitive to certain flavorings and stay away from them..
