Possible bad nicotine?

I've recently began making my own e-juices, however I'm beginning to think that my nicotine could possibly be ruining what I create. I've made around 15 or so different flavors, however I'm struggling to find one that I like. There seems to be an unpleasant aftertaste on most of them and it just doesn't taste right. I decided to smell the nicotine I purchased and it has a very odd, unique, and unpleasant aroma that I can't seem to describe. In the juices that I've made, the flavorings seem to mask the scent, however I'm sure it's still there and could possibly be affecting the flavor. The nicotine I use is 50mg/ml and PG based, should this have any scent at all?

Where did you get it? I have heard that some of the nic juices have a very slight flavor to them.

Try adding the appropriate amount of PG/VG to some of your nic juice to make a flavorless juice in a small amount and see if the taste persists.

It could be that your DIY stuff just needs to steep.

Got it from NicVape. it came in a plastic bottle which worries me a little as I've been trying to avoid storing anything in plastic containers. I'll give your suggestion a go as well as remaking a flavor or two except without any nicotine in it this time. Hopefully I'll figure something out. Thanks
