Ok so I have the elcheapo vv USB pass through with the ego threading from fasttech. What I am wanting to do is use something like http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/...67g-3a-diy-single-usb-mobile-power-supply-pcb and a few batteries encased and readily charged as either a charger for my 900mAh ego or for the USB pass through in a pinch. Anyone attempted this type of thing, in theory the 3A output should be more than enough for the vv mod, but I am unsure as to the reliability or even feasibility of the whole thing.

I bought an item similar to this and it work great with a pass thru battery I charge my cell phone with it too if the power goes out.

$8.23 Xinbo 1-1.5A 3*18650 Single USB Output Mobile Power Pack Battery Charger w/ LED Illumination - white at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

That one only has a 1 to 1.5 amp listing. It won't do!
https://www.fasttech.com/products/1280901 is rated for 2 amps, and works great. I have 2 of them, took them camping a couple weeks ago and they lasted for the whole trip with 4 each 2600mAh batteries in them. Had a 1300mAh battery and my cellphone connected to mine most the time.. LOL Wife just used hers for the cellphone as she's a light vaper..

Saw those type chargers with something similar on vaperjoes the other day, my only issue was the 8-10second power of feature of that one he was pimping with his ego to USB adapter. Is that an issue with the one you have? I don't want to have to keep forgetting to hit an extra power button every other vape lol.

If you're charging something while vaping, it handles the problem.. LOL

Using it with a total pass-thru, I keep the power pack connected to a usb hub on my computer. bypasses the shutdown. Only other time I see using a pass-thru (other than at my desk) is while driving, and I can connect to my usb outlet then.

I very clearly stated "works great with a pass thru battery" battery being the key term here, No it will not work with a standard pass thru with no battery.
