it happened once before and ended in web site problems for ecf. i'm not sure if i'm jumping the gun but better safe than sorry ;)

as of this morning, any thread i open never seems to stop loading. :?: even though the page seems to be complete my little circle in ff keeps spinning and spinning.
on the bottom i see '' read e-cigarette-forum.com'' and it never stops unless i go to ''my posts'' or the main forum page.
this happens only on ecf - my news sites and other web pages load fine.

xp pro, ff v31.0

Go to Speedtest.net by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test and see how your internet connection stacks up. It's funny. My connection is absolutely great by the standards of my past ISP's, but the graphic says I'm slower than 61% of the nation! I"m paying for 16mbps and getting that (minus overhead).

FWIW, here's the results of my pingtest with ECF. The "time" parameter is the number of milliseconds it took for the round trip to ECF and back. That's really good.

If you are up to doing some diagnostics with Windows, you can click on the start button, enter CMD into the search box and press enter, then paste the ping line below (without the quotes) into the command line window that comes up and hit return. That will check your connection to ECF and return some results.

dave, no need for diagnostics - this spinning wheel is happening only on ecf. weather underground, fb, ebay and news sites are loading fine for me this morning.
and i distinctly remember this happened once before and shortly thereafter ecf ran into serious problems. not sure if those 2 things were related but i thought it was mentioning - just in case! :D

ok, ok, atty! as far as i can see the page is complete and displays promptly! :D

slow load times to me means i can't see what's on the page. ;) this is not the case - atm i'm able to type my reply while watching the spinning wheel
the other day, in a different thread, i must have had that spinning wheel for 10 minutes or more. i load 40 posts per page and was catching up reading and answering multi-quotes. since i type with one finger it takes a bit of time
just looked at the top of the page and yup, it's still spinning.
the reason i mentioned it, the last time this happened ecf went down not long after. coincidence?

Probably coincidence. I was eating a PB&J at the time. Of course, now I don't eat PB&J while surfing ECF because...well..... ;)

Hi tib, long time eh? :)

Try ruling out the obvious common denominator -- temporarily block/disable your sig. I did a web page test and although your sig only took :

Looking at the results lead me to believe your sig (tinypic) is most likely not causing your issue but it's worth a try going au naturel for a bit. Could be the PB&J, though.
