Here's another one of our little cat named "Doo-Doo". I wrote this tribute for a contest. They didn't like it, but I do. If only there was a way to fix those eyes!
Where a Cats Love Leads
Our beautiful little Doodad, on the front porch did you appear
just a little bitty baby, so wanting to stay here
Our ooh-whee? girl, your little voice was so high
As you scampered and played, giving out little cries
We love our little Doodles, and think of you each day
Without you here, without you near, our home isnt quite the same
We had you such a short time, or was it you had us?
You fit right into our family, absolutely nary a fuss
You were the first to cross over, and our hearts were most sore
Then one by one the others passed, until there were no more
How to honor your existence other than by pictures and words?
And then a fine idea - a great notion did occur
Rescue one until there are none, adopt more children with fur!
The one became four, with fosters adding more affection
And often we are sporting quite a feline collection
Though we love all our babies, there will be more ahead
For rescue is now our passion, DooDad, look where love has led
With each and every cat saved, your devotion we repay
And think of when well see you, maybe not soon
but someday
