So tonight my dog knocked my Provari off the table onto our hardwood floor. The mini nova broke off and it snapped off right where the center thingy attached to the threads and left the threads in the Provari with nothing left to twist it out. Instead of panicking, ok I did panic for a minute or two, I remembered the broken light bulb trick using a potato. I carefully carried my Provari into the kitchen, cut up potato twisted it in a couple times and the broken piece came out. Yeah!! After cleaning the potato guts off its back to working like a champ.

My wife has had the same thing happen with her provari, except with a protank. I thought of the potato, but a thin flathead screwdriver wedged into the broken off section that was stuck in the connector worked just great. Grats on saving the PV!
Haha, every time I see one of the "help my protank broke and left a piece" threads I have wanted to suggest using a potato. Didn’t think it would really work though, that’s awesome. Vodka, French fries, salmon patties, broken cleromizer extractor. The potato is certainly a noble tuber.
The same thing happened to me and my Provari with a protank. I was fortunate and was able to remove the remaining remains of the Kanger Protank thread by simply inserting finger into the hole that the Kanger goes into. I was able to get it off with no problem
Nice save !!! I have an old tennis ball that I cut a slit into and turned it inside out for broken light bulbs. Works well for when no tubers are available. 
I've almost suggested a potato at times to remove broken tank shafts also. But I thought I'd get bashed by non believers. Lol.
+1 for the Provari/potato method. Have done it before it works quite well. I was thinking of using a pencil eraser next time the inevitable happens (another Protank breaks at the 510 connection). But I'm going to have to go out a buy a pack. I havn't used that type of outdated technology in quite a while. But I'm figuring it would be a perfect little tool for saving my Provari.
For really stubborn cartos or connectors a 1/16th inch drill bit works wonders.Just drill through both sides and use the bit to twist them off.
I've never heard of using a potato to unscrew things. Wow! I hope I remember this if I ever need it.
Just make sure the electrical device is turned off first.
And also, never ask me how I know this.
