Hi forum.
Things are fine just got some flavors in part are fa part are cappela. Im not sure but it seems as though some flavors are stronger than others. I put in about 15 ml of cheesecake & crust from fa in one recipe and you could hardly taste it. However i put in banana split from ca and it was quite noticable..Can anyone tell me if this is common that some flavors are more concentrated or potent than others or shall i say more dominant? And if so does it have to do with the company I order from or does it just depend on the specific flavor? Can anyone suggest quality potent sweet flavors please.. which ones there are and where to get them? Could really use the help im completely in darkness on this looking for good sweet recipes that wont cost the use of have a 30 ml. Bottle of flavoring for a 30 ml batch. Thank you so much.

The flavours of some companies are definitely more concentrated than those of others. The ones I use require around 2%, whereas some others call for up to 15%.

I cant help much as i don't know much about DIY. Some flavours very subtle though and take steep time to come out. So the Banana one was potent and strong but the cheesecake will require steeping (ageing) to come through more. Having tried a few different flavours now of juice i would say yes some flavours are deffo more powerful, citrus ones menthol etc are very pungent.

When you are going to use a single flavor, you need to look up the suggested percentage, because they all vary so widely. So for example, let's take one I was just vaping, Capella's Blueberry Jam. You'd look up:

Capella "Blueberry Jam" single flavor percentage

and you'll see that most recommendations are for 8-10%

There are various lists of different manufacturers' concentrates with recommended percentages floating around. I usually copy and paste the ones I find into Evernote.

Generally FlavourArt and Inawera tend to be a lot more concentrated and require lower percentages than other brands.

I've been making my own liquids for about a year, I've decided to stay mostly with the tobacco flavors so you don't have to worry about this atomizer or tank for this flavor and that for that flavor. Just about all the tobaccos don't require steeping, a Havana cigar flavor did need the steeping though. I have I bunch of sweet flavors I just mixed up but put them into steeping and haven't tried them yet. Honey, brown sugar, Maple, and a few others to be added to the tobaccos.

I don't know which FA flavor you're referring to, but... 15 mils of any flavor in a 30 mil batch is _way_ too much flavor. For most FA flavors it would be 10 times too much, for some flavors _much_ more. Using too much flavor can make you unable to taste it. FA is actually generally quite a bit stronger than Capella, but individual flavors do vary.

Flavoring juice is more like making perfume than making food, and even small differences in flavor quantities can make big differences. People have spent a lot of time experimenting to find out what percentages work well with different flavors, etc., and you definitely want to take advantage of that.

You might check out alltheflavors.com . It is a small database of recipes, but most are pretty good.

Not knowing what volume you added 15MLs to there is no way I can even make a suggestion here. What is the 15ML's id a percentage? 1% 10% 50%?

From the original post it sounds like he was mixing 30 mill batches ("Could really use the help im completely in darkness on this looking for good sweet recipes that wont cost the use of have a 30 ml. Bottle of flavoring for a 30 ml batch.") I'm going to guess that he mixed TFA Cheesecake (Graham Crust) at 50%.

If you assume it was a 30ML batch that is 50% which I would consider over flavored.
