Powered USB Hub cranks out Power!!

Awhile back I bought a USB Passthrough and ran it off of my computer. It was very weak. I was dissapointed with the unit.

Today I bought a Belkin 4 port POWERED USB Hub and ran the Passthrough off of the hub.

Night and day this unit ran like a champ. I swear I'm vaping at 5v.

there might be something wrong with your usb port on the pc. all usb should run at 5v.

They all run at 5v. Its the amps that matter.

Got a model number on that hub?

F4U016 The power supply says it cranks 5V at 2.6 AMP

4.75 volts - 5.25 volts is the specification. Some sources are out of spec, like on apple keyboards... they put out around 4.4 volts.

You don't really know what you're getting unless you measure it, though... or through observation (like the OP).

My pt works great with my computer but I did not want to chance damaging my computer if it shorted out so I tried a usb power supply I had that put out 450mamp. Barely any output at all. I purchased a power supply that puts out 2000mamp and it works great. I believe that you need 1000mamp minimum for it to work right.
