practicing making coils for rba on subtank mini

So.my subtank mini will b arriving approximately tmrw.right now I just finished trying out my first coil, 8wraps n slid the cotton etc etc...I believe 28 or 26g for the kanthal....JUST PRACTICING.So I'm not putting this into the rba wen it arrives unless I get some info from u folks here...plz

Yes it was..wud u by chance know..... 1) 28 g wud b good for me to start? I've read that it was good for beginners (resistance wise) 2)what size drill bit or something like it to wrap

For Kanthal builds on the STM rba 28g kanthal on a 2mm mandrel works well
Be sure you have an ohmmeter or multimeter to check your resistance and have a good understanding of battery safety

Just found a perfectly informative article whatever about cooling for beginners...28g,,will b getting that as now more people say good for me...says 1/16bit drill...about the ohmmeter...the istick 50w reads ohms...Will tht suffice?

Many people use the meter on their devices. Personally I think that is stupid. Yes you need a seperate Volt Ohm Meter and and atomizer ohm meter. the atomizer meter at the minimum.

The reason against the devices meter is.... Since the DEVICE might be the cause of any problem you are having.. Why would you trust the device to help diagnose a problem?

I think the 1/16 drill bit will be a bit too small. Try one size bigger, maybe even 2 sizes.
A DMM to measure resistance is pretty cheap too - Harbor Tool Freight sells them for about $4.

5/64th is a bit bigger,also.....I found a bicycle pump nozzle tht seems to b exactly or very very close to that.has something to press the coil against as I wrap...Don't know what ohm these will run at yet but oh well.learning how to doit anyways..and I have 100' coming soon

These sub-tanks are considered clearomizers, and are placed in the appropriate forum when noticed. It helps folks to find all info regarding them (including rebuilding) in one place...
