Pre made coils from avidvaper.com

Just got my 2.5 ohm coils with wick from avidvapor.com. Price was great $5 for 5 coils. Putting them in my vivi tank was a cinch. Took me less than 2 minutes.

Taste is horrid!! What should I do to improve taste? Should I dry burn to oxydize? Should I torch the coil and wick first?

Looking for any help.

I ordered some of these when I first started rebuilding VNs. I got them mainly to see what it looks like. I don't remember them being that awful though. I used them to practice on and there's still a couple lying around somewhere. Then I got some 32g kanthal and wrapped small slivers of a cotton ball and the taste was much better. I never really liked the silica taste and was kinda afraid of it after hearing all the "glass particles in your lungs" talk. If you use cotton, make sure it's fully saturated or it'll burn and it's game over for that wick. I quit using VNs when I got a Drunker tank.

Drunker tank looks good. I might try one. But still trying to figure out the issue with these pre made coils...Day two I can taste the flavor now but still have a burnt metalic taste. Has anyone on here tried these? And is there anything I can do to improve flavor?

usually a metallic taste is a shorting coil, make sure the wraps arent touching anything and glowing evenly.

it may also be a good idea to rinse them before first use
