I ordered 500ml from NN to try diy. Unfortunately I wasn't paying attention and ordered 6mg instead of 3mg. I have 2 480ml containers of both PG and VG and was going to mix those in to cut it but I don't have easy access to a large enough container to store it all mixed together right now. Or do I?

I have both wide and narrow mouth 32oz Nalgene bottles that are dark tinted and BPA free. Are these safe for pre-mix storage? All of the ingredients I ordered are in plastic containers and Nalgene is high quality with no leeching but are they gtg for this purpose?

I think it depends on how long you expect to store it. Personally, I keep my nic in the original bottles for the first year in the freezer, then transfer to glass for longer term storage. I have read that plastic can allow some oxygen to pass through and that some plasticizers could possibly leach, but that would take a long time. One other factor is your nic percentage. Lower percentage nic should have less impact on plastic overall.

One thing I would consider is keeping the nic at 6mg until you need a bottle of 3mg, then mixing it down. The less exposure to oxygen between now and when you need it will keep your nic less oxidized, so it will remain lighter in color and taste.

Good luck with your mixes!
