I am very disappointed with my Precise. The batteries 10440 are lame. It's hard to get a good charger, and harder to get a good charge on any charger... Are there better 10440 bats than the True Fire? Seems like a lot of great design and stainless steel... great manufacturing... but no power at all. Compared to my screw driver it's just lame. But it sure looks good.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to beef this thing up?
I'm using the gray True Fire 10440's and the charger they make... which still doesn't give a great fit. It's spring loaded to hold the bat in place.
Thanks
Ed

Trustfire 10440's are the bane of my existence and give a great device a bad name. A few things to check, make sure on both the top and bottom of the battery, the plastic wrap that holds the protection circuit on isn't half shielding both the bottom switch and the top post from touching. Grimdog pm'd me the other day saying he was having problems with this and peeled back the plastic a bit and voila, problem solved. Also, others have reported that a dab of noalox on the end of the switch works wonders too.

Do you have a volt meter to test your batteries to make sure they are good or are charging fully (they should read around 4.2 fully charged). Sometimes you can get a bad batch and go thru several batteries until you find some good ones. I read a horror story once on the forums about someone going thru a good half dozen of them before finding a good one.

That failing, AW makes some really nice 10440's. They are too short, but i'm working on a solution (Edit: I meant to say at cost, so nearly "free") that will allow you to run the AW batteries should you so choose.

I use the 510 and 808 carts and am not really a heavy vaper during the week.
My Precise 10440 will last all day at work and get me home on one batt easy.

Based on what I see, I think I just got lucky when I got these or it may be that I'm not hitting them so hard and they get a little recovery time between vapes.

On the 510 carts, this thing roxx. Tons of vapor...

Speaking of which.....

David... do you have any of the Super6 510 901/808 adapters in stock? I've lost one somewhere and cannot find that da*ned thing..

... and

quoted from Drozd on the other thread.

compared to drain rates:
1.5Ω LR atty is about 2.47A
joye 510 is about 1.61A
standard 3Ω carto is about 1.23A
turbo carto is about 1.19A
slb 510 atties about 1.16A
801 about 1.06A
901 about 1.00A

I had power problems with the Precise too which is why I sold it. I made no claim that it vaped well when I sold it, but just said someone who didn't require a lot of power (vapor/throat hit) would probably like it very much. It sold within an hour of my listing it.

It was a beautiful little device. The mystery is why the 10440 batteries work so well in my Janty Sticks but not in the Precise. I tried every trick because I really wanted it to vape more powerfully, but it just wasn't going to happen. My Precise was perfect in design and I had no trouble with any of the connections. It didn't need tweeking, so I concluded that it just needed a little more powerful battery.

I still think many will find the Precise perfect for their style of vaping, especially for those who don't require a volcanic eruption with every hit. I've got two Super-T Six's now which I think are perfect for me. The Six is my most consistent and best performing Mod. My Chuck is a close second. In the final analysis, I think it'll be great if David can find a way to give the littlest Precise just a little more umpf.

I did find some Joye batteries, but after having the vendors measure them, they come up short, and I found that they lack a visible protection circuit.

Replacement Battery for Joye510 passthrough - $6.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce

His measurement was 1 11/16". An Ultrafire protected was 1 13/16

and also here at Janty USA, where the picture is actually the wrong model.

Janty USA - E-CIGAR BATTERY

His measurement was 44 mm, and a regular Ultrafire protected was 46 mm.

So, my guess is that they are not protected, but I don't know. Does anyone?

I'm not sure on that battery North shore.

I am having some different switches done up for the Precise to allow the Use of the AW10440 to cure the battery problems that are plauging the Ultrafire 10440's.

On yours womanfolk, i'd guess (purely a guess) it was the top of the battery. The top post on the Precise 10440 was reported by some to not completely touch the top of the battery due to the shrink wrap that holds on the protective circuit of the 10440 batteries esssentially raises above the post itself on some batteries. Grimdog alerting me to this problem and said he had to peal back the plastic wrap on the battery to make proper contact.
