Preping a new EGO

Hi all, I have an Joye EGO kit with standard 510 atomizer, Boge 3 ohm cartomizers, and a drip tip due to arrive today. I've read several posts about prep for a new PV and just want to be sure I understand. First I obviously need to charge the batteries. Next I need to blow the primer off the atty. Which brings me to my first question, how do I blow it out and should I rinse it with hot water or vodka to wash the primer off? Finally, is there any prep for cartomizers other than filling them?

Hi snap-pop
to blow just hold a tissue to batt end and blow thru, the tissue catches the primer,,,,give one or two hard blows. You could wash but do you want to wait for the dry time?
up to you ---no prep on cartos, pop the white cap, tilt and drip down the inside, slowly turning as you go....give it time to soak up before adding more drops, when it looks like a slushy, somewhere around 20 drops or so, a couple of drops will come out the bat end, wipe and vape.

ps... the hole in the middle is an air supply, if juice gets into this it will just run out the bat end....if this happens, you need to blow it thru and catch on tissue,,,,,,this time blow softly...lol

I usually blow the out holding a tissue at the other end. Ask 30 people and 15 will tell you one end to blow into, 15 the other

I never "prewash" them (rinse with hot water or vodka).

And for cartomizers, just fill, give them about 10 minutes to let the juice permeate the filler and vape away.

I hope you're getting at least 2 batteries and atomizers, for backups. I prefer the cartos, personally, but everyone is different. Either way, you don't want to get caught by an equipment failure and have nothing to vape on.

There are videos on you tube that help you prepare for all these things if you search. Welcome and good luck. Just hold the mouth to the atty or carto adn blow until you feel or see no primer coming out and then refill with juice.

I'm getting an Joye EGO kit with 2 batteries, 2 attys, 2 cones, and 5 prefilled carts. I also ordered a drip tip and 5 Boge cartos. This is what several people here recommended for a starter kit. I ordered some sample juice from Liberty Flights, too. I've read posts from people that didn't do the initial prep and didn't get off to a good start. Thanks for helping me out.

Sounds good.
I use the atomizer and drip to test my e-liquid mixes, when i'm satisfied with it I switch to cartoms.
I'd suggest you to get the boge LR 1,5ohms. They make tons of warm vapor without penalizing the flavor.
Using a syringe to make the 1st fill is a good tip.

Well, I followed your directions and everything is going fine. I far prefer vaping to smoking. I cleaned the atomizers like you said, but I have only used cartomizers so far. I only have Marlb high nicotine prefilled carts that came with the kit and doubt I want that much nicotine. I'll give those to a friend and try some blanks in a few days. I definitely see why manual batteries are best, I would have already killed an auto battery from leaking juice.

Congratulations, sounds like you're well on your way. And remember, your taste will change a bit with time (getting off analogs), so don't do like some folks do, and overstock on what you *think* you like
