The last 3 times I have refilled one of my egos I have had a burnt taste on the first vapes then it goes away. This time it doesn't seem to be going away. What am I doing wrong? Too many primer drops? Not enough? I have been blowing them out daily and rinsing them in hot water every few days. Is my atty already ruined?

Normally a burnt taste in an atty or carto is bc they were not kept wet enough. If you let them get too dry you can singe the wick which will leave a nasty burnt taste. Sometimes you can get that taste to go away with a cleaning, but it depends on how bad it was burnt. If it was burnt bad, normally that taste will never go away even with a cleaning. It could be bc of something like that, but not necessarily.
Do you chain-vape? and what is the PG/VG ratio of the juice your using?

No need to rinse your atty out in hot water every couple of days. You should be ok for at least 2 weeks before you need to do anything with your atty. Personally, when my atty gets a tight draw after a couple of weeks I throw it out and put on a new one. At $7-8 per atty it a small price for the convenience.

Please tell us what pv you are using and what ohm rating and atty you are using. Ego?

cheers,

Not sure exactly what I have... It's an ego t... Standard stuff. The atty is cone shaped, skinnier at the tip than at the battery connection. The tank and mouthpiece are one piece.

Maybe I have been burning it at the end of the last tank not on the beginning of the new tank. I am an unashamed ejuice ho ;) so I am usually changing flavors on a tank refill, and try to get all my juice first.

I guess I need to get some backup attys and maybe some cartos to try too. Does anyone have a good selection in the colors? I have 1 black and one purple...need to match my purple battery. Hehe.

Oh and gatorfan... I have been cleaning it because a few days in I was getting a scratching throat. It seemed like I was getting a harsher output and rinsing seemed to help. Knowing a (very) little more now it was probably just dehydration. I'll try to back off lol.

Edited for: droid. Stupid auto correct.

I had an atty that had a fiber wick that was located under the stainless bridge, the end of the wick must have gotten loose and dropped down onto the coil and started burning. I was sneezing and coughing from every toke until I pulled the wick from the bridge and then everything was fine again. I did leave the wick that was inside the coil alone. Just my two cents worth.

OK, you have a type A atomizer for an eGo-T.
Now, do you know how to pop the wick plate out of it?
looks like this (less the pliers)

You can see the wick that is on the bottom of the plate that you need to clean or replace.
Here is a video of how to clean your atty properly.

I have a 510-T and everything was great for the first couple weeks, no cleaning at all, then my wife started using one of them with some DIY Apple I made up and a couple days later it was giving off a nasty burned taste to every flavor juice I tried. I set it aside and went to a new atty, started trying every way mentioned on this forum to clean it with no luck, then I read about using baking soda and vinigar to clean it followed by some lemon juice. I tried it out and WOW my burnt atty is just like new.

white distilled viniger and baking soda works wonders on tank attys.
