Friends, you know I'm a prepper. I have not yet been able to afford to store mass quantities of food, simply because we can't afford it.

We have alot of supplies, but only a few weeks worth of stocked food, which I know will go very fast when the great tribulation starts and satan sets up his evil system and the harsh days ahead if the rapture does not come before then.

I was sitting here this morning looking at bulk food prices, and thinking, how in the world am I going to do this? We can't afford it! There is just no way, I don't have thousands of extra dollars to do this.

Then something entered my mind. "GO TO THE FEED STORE". It hit me just like that.

I called the local feed store and a 50lb bag of whole oats is $15.00. They also have other grains and corn too in huge quantities for pennies.

I asked what is the difference? She said they are not FDA approved for human consumption, but they are approved for animal consumption (food grade). So what does that mean to me? There might be a few dead ants in it, some dirt or whatever? WHO CARES! I"LL WASH IT OFF! IT"S STILL FOOD! It will keep me alive and I won't starve to death!

The whole oats still have the hull on them, which can also be eaten. The dried corn can be ground into corn meal. I'm going to buy a used hand grain mill to grind the grain up to make meal or flour if you want to do that.

Think about it.........cheap survival food! I just have to figure out the proper way to store it.

Rice, dried beans, soups (buy one get one free stuff can be found all the time), canned meats.....the cheaper cans, lentils, pasta, anything that will bulk up when you cook it, spaghetti O's....even a can a day will stretch your food, vienna sausage, beanee weenies, chili....canned foods have a good shelf life, canned fruits, powdered milk....you can even get a can of butter and cheese from Internet Groceries. Stock up on vitamins, condiments, spices.....$ General has them for cheap...these will come in handy. There is a lot to choose from. The macaroni and cheese that you can get for 3 for a $1.....when you go to the grocery store, buy a few extra cans of something....or rice. Canned chicken and cooked rice added to a can of mushroom soup. It's not bad. For those of you who like tuna and noodles, you can whip that up in a hurry. (gag.....I hate tuna) keep packets of salt, pepper, ketchup, etc from when you grab a burger.....plastic utensils....the possibilities are endless, but you have to tune your mindset to it. It can be done!:)

Right on sister! You can get a 6 pack for a little over a dollar! :)

Here's a yummy 'tip' on how to make them go from OK to great.

Bring the water to a boil... cook the Ramen noodles three minutes (don't overcook! they get too mushy.. you want them firm).. now, instead of using the flavor packet that seasons them & makes them into a type of 'soup', put that aside & save in your survival supplies. This packet would make a life saving 'cup o' soup' in an emergency situation and they take up so little space!. Now,strain the Noodles completely in a strainer of all the excess water. Set them aside. In a separate skillet, add a TBSP of olive oil or TBPS of butter (your preference), onion, garlic, or both. Saute' til nicely translucent or slightly browned. Now add a touch of ground/powedered Ginger or (mashed) Ginger from a jar, 2-4 TBS of soy sauce, 1 TBSP of crunchy or creamy Peanut butter and some 'parsley' flakes for color. Turn the heat way down now & just mix all of this together thoroughly. Toss in the Ramen Noodles, serve and enjoy. This is some good eating now I'm telling you.. and ALL of the ingredients I just mentioned (other than the onion & butter) will be in your 'Survival Supplies already)

This is a yummy dish with seasoned peas on the side... I'm tellin' ya!
