The actions that the people of ASH allowed to discredit e-cigs is ultimately going to harm their cause. A lot of them thought less of the general public, believing they could sway everyone's opinion by spreading lies and deceit. Their tactics employed only shows me that their general opinion of the US population is poor.
They are going to require quite a bit to restore any trust a lot of the general public had in them. As for me, I think that perhaps at one time they had the best of interest of people but have slowly eroded into a corrupt organization of fanatics.
Even if ASH has the e-cig completely banned, it is going to be a severe loss for them. They have shown that they are not interested in providing facts.
