So my friend who wants to try e-cigs has tried quitting analogs before by using the gum, but he had heart palpations, should he not get an e-cig? or is it a totally different thing?

I think he was chewing too many pieces of the gum in a day.. if i remember correct. Or i could be wrong. anyone have any similar situations? I dont want to tell him to buy something thats going to do that to him again.

Any info helps. thanks:)

I'm almost willing to bet this is a question that is WAY too medical for anyone to touch. if we're wrong then he's in trouble.

i'd be willing to bet the palpations came from the nicotine because it affects your heart rate more than anything else. If i were him i'd ask his doctor and make sure that is the case. and if it is, put him on a 0 nic eliquid that is strong in TH. that may be mild enough to where he won't have too much of a nic fit.

That's just a ......'s guess though. i could be (and probably am) wrong

Rapid heartbeat and headaches are common symptoms of too much nicotine. E-cigarettes should satisfy a smoking habit better than gum because you still have the whole mechanical part of dragging on something plus some TH and vapor. But your friend would have to exercise some self restraint and not vape more nicotine than they smoke. If they are going to vape more often than they smoked, then they should use lower nicotine eliquid or cartos (whatever their PV uses). I just ordered myself some lower nicotine juice for at home where I vape more often and for longer.

When first getting an e-cigarette it's recommended to get 2-3 different strengths of nicotine so you'll have something lower or higher to try if necessary.

I am not a doctor.

As a total noob here, but a long time smoker...First a qualified Dr. is in order as we are all different. I have used the patch and smoked at the same time w/ no probs. The same goes for the gum. I, currently, use the gum or patch when I am detained at the mercy of air travel and still smoke when I get the chance with no issues. That's why I am here after all, and currently having an analog and some whiskey. Good news folks this newbie will be offline soon.

You know he could try ecigs with 0 nic in them. Everything else in eliquid isn't going to mess with his heart it's the Nic.
But that would give him the habit, exhale, mental, hand to mouth part of smoking. It seems like Some people are more addicted to that habit, then the Nic anyway(he might not be I'm just saying)

Beyond that, he really needs to speak with a doc.

I really like your Avatar...

yes, i agreed totally.
Most Smokers got habit or addiction for the 1st and 2nd, some have the 3rd. and the rare have the no. 4
1. Mouth hand action
2. Nicotine
3. Tobacco
4. Tobacco Smell/Stink
