While I never dry burn my T attys (does more harm than good in my experience with these), I know some people do and swear by it, but there's never a need to do it on a brand new atty ;-)
If you feel you need to go this route when cleaning them after using for a while, you should remove the spike plate before burning and keep it limited to very short bursts

As with anything, YMMV. Everybody's got their own techniques and experiences and prefers different methods for things

Hey Gary777, toss a mug of water in the microwave and bring it to a boil, while you're waiting take a pair of fine needle nose pliers and grab the wick plate by the flattened sides and pull it out (rock it back and forth a bit, it'll come). Drop the atty (without the wick plate) and drop it in the boiling water and just let it soak. If you have a small torch or windproof lighter (not a bic, it'll make the wick black and sooty) give the wick a good blast, the wick will actually glow red then go totally white as it cools. Take the atty out of the water and blow it out from both ends, don't worry about letting it dry overnight just screw it on to the batt and give it quick 2-3 second bursts, the coil will stop spitting and eventually glow red and not make any smoke. let it cool then put a drop of your juice onto the coil, put a drop of juice onto the wick, stick the wick into the bottom of your tank and stick it in the atty (push hard)...you'll get the flav of your juice first hit and you're good to go...I've used this method on all my ego t attys (a's and b's, same atty, a's are just tapered) and they 3 weeks old and still going strong...

But Killjoy is right, there's a lot of ways to skin a cat...

Quigs, you do this with a NIB atty, I do a similar procedure in a routine cleaning but never tried that on a new one.
I am getting some really good information here, I just got 4 new attys but don't need them yet. I am looking forward to reading more on this....

only do it when your ready to use it, the primer (which I believe is just PG applied at the factory to test and block corrosion) but ya I do it before I use them for the first time...the primer taste takes for ever to cook out...but I mostly use subtle fruit flavs, I guess if you use something heavy you may be ok...it's also a great way if you use dark sticky juices, those wicks get gooped up pretty good.

Quigs method is what I do as well. Singe your wick and you're stuck with a burnt taste for a while. Once you figure out how to remove the wick plate, cleaning these is a breeze. Vicky from Cignot has a great vid of how to clean ego-T attys. Check it out.

also, since I use the silicone caps on my tanks instead of the plastic ones they usually come with, I recommend keeping at least one plastic one to replace the plate when you are reassembling the atty. The soft silicone caps have too much give and you can't get it wick plate to sit properly.

I wish I had some of those silicone caps...actually I use a deep 1/4" drive socket that just fits in the atty to push the wick plate in till it clicks...I only mention the "put it on the end of the tank" method cause not everyone has a spare 1/4" drive deep socket kicking around and it works just fine...I just use a socket cause it looks cool in my e cig crap kit, lol

I have several type B ego atty's. When I first got them all I did was to blow them out really goo I use a nose syringe that I picked up at the pharmacy and cut it to fit the atty. I just mad sure that I blew the atty out real good then filled up my tank cart inserted it into the atty and vaped away No problems. The only problem I find is that dark juices tend to clog up your atty a lot faster than lighter juices.
