Hi guys,
Recently bought this pair and the first week or two everything was great. Then it started..
SMM:
No matter how i wick it, it leaks by the AFC ring. I can't understand it, if i remove the AFC cover everything is fine but while the cover is on it leaks like crazy. I don't know if its condensation or what but any advice is welcome.
Primo:
First, it drains my battery like crazy, it even drains it if the mod is just sitting there unused. I use double the
batteries on it in comparison to my VTC mini..
Second, the Weak Battery message. Battery is at 50% charge and it says weak battery and gives weak power output. I then tighten the torx screw under the USB slot and its better, one day later it happens again.
Both me and my girlfriend have the primo and on both of them its the same thing.
Any advice?
Thanks
Can't help with your mod, I've never used it.
As for the SMM, I use mine quite a bit.
First off, yes this and any other bottom airflow tank will have condensation. It can be substantial depending on your coil, airflow setting, how you vape, etc. Larger mass coils take longer to heat up and cool down. When I finish a good pull off mine, it will continue to generate vapor for a good # of seconds, even after I finish my pull and clear it. The coil is still hot, vapor is generated and will condense if the coil can't cool down enough.
Open your airflow all the way, release the button and continue your pull on the tank for a bit after. That can help. Hate to say it, lower mass coils, or materials that will heat up and cool down quicker. Not sure what types of coils you use.
Now problems I found with my tank. The only way it can leak based on the design other than the deck flooding is though the positive post. It's mounted to the deck with the 510 and the airflow runs through it. If the positive post isn't seated properly or 510 pin isn't tight enough, it will leak out of the airflow. Liquid will seep under the post insulator and into the airflow. Next build you do, remove the 510 pin and positive post. Reseat the post being sure it's straight and all the way in. Put the 510 pin back in tightly. Maybe yours is a bit off.
Also, I know folks post they don't get leaks when filling, don't have to close the airflow and burp the tank during filling and the like. No matter how much cotton I use, mine will leak right after filling if I don't. I'm not a chain vaper, I can pack a lot of cotton without getting a dry hit. I've put quite a good bit of cotton in the deck holes and it will still leak when I fill it if I don't close the airflow, invert and then open the airflow with the tank inverted. I'm going to rewick mine today, I'll increase the cotton again just for grins and let you know, but it's never helped leaking after filling for me. Top fill design with a screw on lid. Plus it take a good number of turns to seat the cap fully. So it's putting a lot of pressure on the juice in the tank as you screw the cap down after filling. This pressure forces liquid through the cotton onto the deck. I know the airflow holes a up off of the deck, but somehow liquid gets in them after filling for me.
Now, that said, my biggest issue is leaking after filling. I did have/fixed the 510 issue mentioned above. However, condensation can be pretty bad depending on the coil/material used. I do really enjoy the tank still use it daily though. I pocket carry it, I just make sure I fill/wipe it (if needed) before I pocket it. I've learned to either live with the condensation, or use a lower mass coil.
I've used a simple single wire coil in it, no significant condensation. If I do this and invert/burp when filling (wipe after if needed), it's leak free until the next filling.
