Doots, thanks so much for your reply. I was wondering if the top unscrewed but didn't want to force it. I hope I don't damage them getting them out. I'll definitely invest in the other batteries that were recommended. And just in case anyone was wondering, yes, they were the batteries that were sent with my GLV. Thanks for the help. :)

The strip on protected batteries is what makes the tight fit. Be really, really careful putting batteries in and taking them out. If you tear thru the protective skin of the battery, exposing the strip, the battery is ruined.

...how about if you chip just a tiny piece of the outer skin off? I did that to one Ultrafire while struggling to get a pair out of their dern original shrink wrap packaging!! :( The tear is maybe a few centimeters to the side of what I'm guessing is the "strip" you mean, a raised bar going down the batt's side. And it's about the size of the head of a pin. All else including strip is still covered. That ok ya think, or does any tear at all in the outer skin = not protected anymore?

Anyone else have button problems? Started intermittently, now it's dead.

I have. Only had my GLV for about 5 days. The threads that hold the atty in are too soft and have become stripped out (Jay is making this right, though). I had what I thought was problems with the button, too. I'd press it, and nothing. Unscrew the atty and reseat it and it worked. I now think it's the atty not making good contact because of the bad threads, not the button. I guess we'll find out when Jay replaces mine.

Not sure on that one but this is probably the one doots meant. I use it for a couple mods including my GLV...

DealExtreme: $11.54 UltraFire 3.0V/3.6V CR123A Charger

Also available at batteryjunction (possibly only as this set with two batts, which are right for the GLV)...

COMBO: Ultrafire WF-139 Lithium Ion Charger / 2 Ultrafire 18500 1600mah 3.7v Batteries

And from there it would arrive within only days, but is more expensive than dealextreme.

yes these will work too...

I had to send mine back to Jay for that very reason. As a matter of fact he still has it. I PM'ed him about it and he said he believed it was a bad button. I did notice that the threads seemed a little soft though. Now I'm wondering if it wasn't the atty connection.
