Let list my new gear first, then I'll explain the issue's -

Indulgance V3 mod, 2 x Ultrafire 3000 mAh Protected 18650 batteries
5 pack of Boge LR Cartomizers
2 510 DCT - Dual Coil Cartomizer Tank V2
4 510 DCT Replacement Cartomizer - 1.5 Ohm
32 mls RY4 32mg 80/20
32 mls RY4 24mg 80/20

My gear arrived yesterday, and boy was I a happy camper. Having smoked better then two packs a day of non-filtered cigs for the better part of 34 years, it was time for a change.
I opened the shiping envelope and identified the parts quickly. Placed one battery on charge and installed the other in hope of sneaking a few vapes while the other battery fully charged.
Open on pre-punced Cartomizer and slowly dripped about 15 drops of the 32mg onto the floss, turning the cartomizer the entire time to evenly distibute the juice. Inserted the cartomizer into the tank and filled it as per the many youtube videos watch.

Attached the tank to the mod and a slow draw was taken. Little to any vapor ;-( I figured it was due to a weak battery so I waited for the green light on the charger.
The wait was short, maybe ten minutes or so, so the baterry swap was made. This time I surely was going to get a throat full of vapor, or so I thought. I hit my Indulgance about six or seven times, never really getting the clouds of vapor as shown on so many of the video's - Next was a Boge Cartomizer, filled pretty much the same way as discribed above.
Nearly 20 drops of RY4 dripped slowly into the cartomizer, being ever villagent not to drip any in the center opening. Attached the Cartomizer and took a deep hit - Great Flavor, Nice Cloud of Vapor and tingle in the back of the throat. Bingo I exclaimed, but my pleasure was short lived. I went to the ECF forum to report on my new toy, vaping maybee once every five to ten minutes for about an hour. I figure surely it was time to top off, so I did, and removed the other battery from charge as it was now greeh lighted.

I have tried to get the tank working, but to no avail. I do see a small air bubble from the prepunced hole in the cartomizer, but never get a full vape - just a tease.

Sticking with the Boge, topping off occassionally results in varied amounts of vapor.

One discovery made so far is that if swap out the batteries after about an hours use, the vapor production increases, but soon lags.

I purchased batteries that were supposed to handed the DCC's so is there something I need to do differently?

How do I determine if my juice is to thick for my tank set up, and then how much VG should be added it that is what is needed.

Thanks in advance -

Note: Only one analog smoked in over 17 hours, would have been a pack plus by now ;-)

First congratulations on switching to vaping! Now that you've gotten a taste of the good stuff the analogs seem kinda nasty don't they?

With regards to your tank, first you need to make sure that the carto is filled w/ juice before you vape. With a proper PG/VG I just leave mine set a moment until I see that the polyfill is nice and slushy. If you have a higher VG juice larger holes are needed to get the juice to saturate the poly. 80/20 doesn't seem like it should be thick so there may be a problem w/ your cartomizer or the juice isn't getting in there. Check to see if the hole is below where the juice is and look at the poly to see if it's saturated.

I don't know anything about your PV so can't speak to the battery life. Someone who is more knowledgeable will come along and try to help.

Well you're vaping 80/20 juice, so it should be more than fine in your tank setup.

An 18650 battery should last you all day long, easily.

I have no experience with the dual coil tanks, so not sure if I can help you on that front.

I don't like to drip fill my cartos before I put them in my tank, if I do anything I'll syringe fill them.

Maybe you are flooding your cartos, which could lead to bad vapor production.

Heyas KABird,

I don't have an Indulgence, but I think I might know what's going on for you.

For me, dual coil cartos at 3.7v just plain underperform. I much prefere a boge lr carto to a dcc at that voltage.

The dcc's you have are probably 1.6Ω smoktechs. They're about the most common dcc. With that carto, you have two 3.2Ω coils heating your juice. So neither coil really gets that warm at 3.7v. The boge lr has a single 2.0Ω coil, so it gets alot warmer at 3.7v, and gives you much more vapor/taste/throat hit/etc.

Those first few hits you're getting when the batt is fresh off the charger, are better because the battery puts out a bit more voltage at first, then settles in to about 3.7v for most of the charge, then drops off at the end. If you like the performance of the boges for the middle part of your battery charge, stick with them, and set the dcc's aside until you move on to other pv's, would be my suggestion. You can also punch the boges yourself using a saddle valve from home depot for about $7 and then use them in your tanks. Probably. Nothing is ever ALWAYS the same with vaping gear. It's just too new of an industry.

And, alot of people really do like the dcc's at 3.7v. It works for them, but it's not for me. I'm thinking our tastes might be similar in this.

Hope this helps. Feel free to post any more questions you may have :)

Im personally not a huge fan of dual coils, and I hate how they drain your battery so quickly.
I recommend trying the Ressurector cartos from Crystal Clear Vaping. They are 1.7ohm and hold alittle over 2ml of juice so they last a long time before they need to be refilled. They are single coil, but many feel they produce vapor similar to a dual coil. CCV has free shipping so I def feel its worth it to try them. They are designed to be used at 3.7V and will work really well on your PV.

As for you battery, like maximillian said, a battery fresh off the charger will give a better vape and slowly drop as the battery dies. Im not sure if the Indulgence is unregulated, but if it is, you will def notice a difference as the battery drains.
If it is unregulated, I recommend getting some IMR High-Drain Batteries. The high-drain batteries will give a more consistant vape for longer. You can get the from RTDVapor or Super T Manufacturing. I like Super T bc their shipping is only $1.70.
If you go on Super Ts website, look under their pictures tab. They have graphs that show how the batteries work as they drain. A regular battery will consistantly keep dropping as it drains. If you look at the graph for the High-Drains, they dont drop off as fast, and thats what gives you a more consistant vape. They only drop off slightly through most of the charge and then drop off sharply at the end. Their alittle more expensive, but def worth it

...is there a gurgling sound with the tank...if so, it is flooded...if flooded, remove form PV...pull tank up just until it covers the hole in the carto and give it good hard blow to clear the air tube, re-seat tank and vape...DDC do not perform all that well at 3.7v, they will shine on higher voltages...to get a better hit at 3.7v, push your button for a couple of seconds before you start your draw...this will allow the coils to start "cooking" before you start your hit...A better alternaitve for your tank would be the smoktech 1.7ohm XL single coil cartos...these really shine at 3.7ohm... XL LR pre-tapped carto (XL smoktech 1.7ohm) are the only vendor I know of selling these prepunched...these are the Resurrector style cartos you see so many folks liking around here(myself included)...CrystalClearVaping.com has about the best deal on "punch your own" but has been having some shipping problems lately...Brent over at hoosierecigsupply/com has these as well for about the same price as CCV..........

I use dual coil on 3.7 or 4.2 volt and get a fairly decent vape with it. I get a better vape with the 2.0 boge and for me the 1.7 cartos that Rob posted about are pretty close to perfect.

Sorry I can't help you with the tank but if you check out the cartomizer section there are many tips regarding the tanks.

I knew you guys and gals would come through with some great answers - Thanks ;-)

I did order four XL Smoktec 1.7 ohm cartomizers from Parkes yesterday, so hopefully they will ship today and be in quickly.

CCV has the Ressurector's as Out Of Stock, so I will keep checking back with them, as well as I have started looking for the extention cap and four 16340 1000mAh batteries. I should have them ordered by week's end.

Also, looking into the LR Boge single coil cartomizers.

Any reccomendations on vendors/suppliers would be more then welcome.

Only four analogs smoked in a day and a half, that means about 55+ weren't!

Welcome and congrats on cutting down the regular cigs so quickly.

I'm not familiar with the battery, so i can't help you there. While a couple of of people have mentioned that your cartos may be flooded. I wonder if maybe there's not quite enough juice. Sometimes the hole in the tank carts is not very big, so there isn't much juice delivery. For non-tank cartos i tend to overfill a teeny bit and then blow out the excess. Most cartos will hold at least one ml. Also, if your juice is 100% PG you'll get flavor, but nt as much vapor as juice that has a % of VG.

good luck and happy vaping

Ah... THAT's the trick.
Gonna check out the 1.7 Resurrectors too; I'm not getting consistent performance performance w/ the Boge 2.0s, though I thoroughly love them when they are right.

Sorry; no hijack intended. Please continue...
