A 30 amp battery might be overkill for what an APV's electronics would ever be able to draw from it, but it sure won't hurt anything either.

Better that than going in the opposite direction and buying low end ICR chemistry batteries with protection cells - that actually won't work in a lot of APV's like a VAMO - because of that protection circuit on the battery conflicting with the APV's electronics.

I agree with Rickajho. You can use them, but using them will be overkill. If you also have mech mods using sub-ohm coils on RBA's, then you can use 30 amp batteries for both the mech and the regulated mod.

There's no excuse to use protected ICR batteries nowadays. High-drain safe-chemistry (IMR or hybrids) batteries are what should be used in both mechanical and regulated variable voltage mods.

Regulated mods require high drain batteries for their pulse width modulation circuitry. The same goes for the Kick in a mechanical mod. I suggest reading the sticky about batteries in this sub-forum for a better understanding of batteries.

Like everyone else said - If it fits, it should work. You'll have no problem using a 30 amp battery in a VV/VW mod - but the most one of these mods will pull is 5-6 amps, regardless of your coil resistance. You may be able to find some mods that use a DNA20 or DNA30 that can push around 10 amps at max, but the only thing that will come close to that 30 amp limit is a mech mod with a 0.14 ohm coil (insane!)

I actually use some 30 amp Sony's in my iTaste VTR - but that's just because those are the batteries I have sitting around :D
