try a 2.5, and also learn your wicking properly. the juice channels (2 holes at the side) should not be blocked up. however the cotton needs to cover over the holes lightly. your cotton should feel resistance when you pull through but should not feel overly tight where it could warp/move your coil as you pull through. remember to prime the cotton properly before you start vaping. lastly, one more tip: after you wick and screw it back on, the top cap of the atomizer for subtank mini can be unscrewed, you can use a piece of wire or a needle to adjust the wicks a little to make them fluffy and position them properly.

after typing all these, just wanted to check another thing with you: did you check whether your coil heats up evenly after building it? ideally, your coil should heat up from inside out evenly. also test your wattage from something lower and gradually increase it till you hit the sweet spot. i haven't used anything single coil for a really long time but on a small tank like this 35w seems a little too high no?
