For unknown reasons, suddenly I am having issues inserting quotes into a post (be it a thread, or a conversation).

Once I'm in the post dialog box, I attempt to click on "Insert Quotes". Even if I'm not cursored within the posting box, and attempt to click on "Insert Quotes", I get the same result.

The result is that the icon to "Upload a File" is highlighted and is the default. Clicking on "Insert Quotes" brings up the Windows Explorer.

The only option at this point is to hit "More Options". From THAT dialog box, I am able to click on "Insert Quotes" and the quoted material box does appear. I click on "Quote these Messages" and sure enuf, they are inserted into the posting box. No prob.

Or is there. At this point, I want to click on "Reply to Thread", but it will NOT allow that. The icon to "Upload a File" is highlighted and no matter what is clicked, it will take me back to Windows Explorer to pick a file.

Here is a screen shot. You can clearly see that the cursor is upon "Reply to Thread" but that "Upload a File" is highlighted.

I have cleaned and cleared cookies and cache (several times) and rebooted (a few times).

Can someone assist me with this dilemma, please?

Thank you.

My workaround: Even, trying to post this post is not working. I'm clicking on "Create Thread", but alas, the same result. What I must do now to post this is to click on "Preview", then Shift-Tab-Tab to allow the icon for "Create Thread" to be highlighted. At that point, I do not mouse click on it, but rather just hit the Enter key, and the post is born.

Something's very wrong, and I would be very grateful for some help with this.

If you disable the plugins/addons in Chrome, do you still have the same problem?

Your quote above posted here with no issue at all.

I actually was playing around with extensions and plugins early today, and sure enuf, there is one called Flashcontrol that prevents Flash content from loading unless you allow it.

It evidently prevents quote content, too..

I've disabled it and we're back in biz. Thank you.

I hope this is helpful to anyone else who might happen to have this problem and that extension installed on Chrome.
