I've tried a bunch of rta's and rda's over the last 6 months and the siren v2 is one of my favorites but I have a problem with it that I just can't figure out. After about a tank of juice it starts to give off a rubbery flavor. I'm certain it's not a dry hit burnt taste but a distinctive rubbery taste. Cleaning it with an ultrasonic cleaner will clear up the rubbery flavor but it always eventually comes back. I think maybe an o-ring or the top silicone seal is seeping flavor into the vape somehow? I've tried different coils, juices, drip tips etc. but haven't been able to pinpoint where the problem is. It's one of my favorite vapes in terms of flavor and airflow but I'm at a point where I'll have to stop using it. Anyone else have this problem?

For lack of a better answer, what type wick are you using? Cotton, Rayon, or some other type?

I've vaped the Siren 2 enough to be familiar with it and like John I've never detected a rubbery flavor or anything different from any other RTA.

Have you pulled it apart and recoiled and rewicked it to see if the taste goes away? I usually run a new atomizer through my ultrasonic cleaner using water with a dash of 91% alcohol and a small squirt of liquid dish soap to rid it of factory lathe and drill oils before vaping it.

The Siren 2 was one that didn't have detectable oil smell or feel, but I ran it through the UC anyway, as I do with all my new attys.

I haven't experienced it either. Did you go with the original O-rings? If so I guess maybe one may be slightly damaged, or a speck of machine oil, or it is breaking down slightly would be my only thought. I might try replacing them with the spares in case one has micro tears or something that could be leeching into the tank? That would be my first GUESS and I will note that you really have to have the orings well in place and well seated, and they're fairly easy to dislodge so maybe replace them to see if one is a bit degraded and leeching into the tank (anything is possible I guess) but that would at least give you an answer (is the the O-rings or something else) etc.

Good luck,

Anna

between here and there
I don’t experience that, but mine leaks like a sieve. I’m sure people will say it’s user error but I don’t know what to do/what else try
Watch a couple of the YouTube vid's on how to wick. Seems to have a variety of different opinions.

I would replace bottom and top "o"ring. Top "o"ring is not the same size as bottom (it is a little smaller) and should be placed in a grove not on the top. If changing "o" rings will not stop leak unscrew bottom pin and you will see another pin inside... tighten it. The inside pin tighten post and if post is not fully tigten liquid can slowly find a way into AF channel.
