I have two Provaris, one is stainless steel and one is black non shiny finish.

I've been using the Stainless steel with my Vivi Nova for the past week. Today I switched the VN to the black one, since we got a mini nova in the mail that I was going to put on the stainless steel one.

So I put it on the black one and had no vapor at all. I switched the battery and tank back and forth between the provari's, cleaned the provari's with Q tips and nothing helped. tank and battery on stainless steel was a flawless vape, but on black one no vapor.

I could hear it firing though.

So I gave it to my boyfriend to fiddle with and he figured out it was where you screw in the tank. If you screw the tank on all the way there is no air getting to it. So in order to vape from it I have to unscrew the tank a bit and have it be wobbly and much too airy.

Any way to fix this? =( I do have warranty but I don't know if this would be covered. I didn't have this issue with phiniacs because I guess there was always enough room between the provari and tank for air to get in.

if you have one of the older vivi novas w/ the long connector, if you screw that down too far, you will push in the center pin on any device, even a provari, and if you screw that down too far and push it in too far, it wont pop back up. I beleive they have revised that with the version 2.5 vivi novas, but still i only ever screw tanks/atties down untill I feel the slightest bit of resistance, it was kind of a learning curve for her not to just screw stuff down all the way in but i have taught this to my gf as well lolz.

I have never had to do this on anything but an ego when i first started vaping but I beleive you should be able to pull it back up with a mini flathead screwdriver. Once i did this on my first ego I never did it again... I hope this helps

The Vivi Nova in question is a 2.5 that I bought about 2 weeks ago.

I'll see if I can find a screwdriver small enough to try what you said ^_^

ok, then maybe you just pushed it down too far, this should be possible with any tank/atty. If its screwed down to the point where you cant pull any air through it, then it is screwed in way too far. the holes are on the top of the connector, but if you screw it in too far it might cover up those holes and not allow you to draw through it. I always make sure there is a slight space between the top of the provari and the tank, but like i said if you only screw it down untill you feel a slight resistance, the pin should always pop back up no problem. I hope youre able to pop it back up.

Sounds like the pin on one unit got pushed in from over tightening it or the pin on the tank is pushed in.

i thought that too but unfortunately vivi novas dont have a floating pin, just a solid connector, i just checked my gf's
Gonna have to find a video on this, I really don't want to break it =(

I'll let you know how to goes.
good idea, you can never do too much research, but fortunately the provari is built pretty solid, with a pretty sturdy center pin. See if you cant get a tiny flathead screwdriver, you know the kind for eyeglasses and whatnot, or better yet two of them, and sort of pry up on the edge of it if you can, get it to pop up to where it was when you first got the provari, and just remember to only screw them down untill you feel slight resistance (my gf used to have the same problem  did this to a few ego twists and almost did it to her provari, fortunately its an easy fix but every now and then ill catch her trying to just screw something all the way in lolz), so just be careful, this can happen to any PV with a floating pin, which is most of them IMO.

If it is firing the pin IS making contact.
I had the same issue with my Cube 14500.
I have to screw it down so it's not wobbly and that kills the airflow.
My solution was to get an Ego adapter and a Ego tank skirt.
The tank skirt had 2 air channels so airflow is restored and the Vivi can be secured to the device.

Yeah, the problem is that the pin is pushed down so far that she has to screw it down to the point where she cant get any airflow in order to make contact, i have a vivi nova that i use all the time for work/out&about-lol and if i screw it down till it makes contact, there is still a noticeable space between the top cap of the provari and the vivi nova, so i think some people are just screwing it down too far to make that space go away (like my gf  ), but the space doesnt really bother me so i just screw it in like i said.

I think the main problem is a lot of chinese made products like the vivi nova (dont get me wrong i love my novas) are made with connectors that are waaay too long, and also they can easily be made w/ a floating center pin like on the ZAP, which would eliminate this problem. On my ZAP, even if i screw it down all the way, the center pin just floats up, which allows you to screw it in all the way every time giving you a solid connection, which is good because its a heavy unit, this makes me think more tank mods should be made w/ this type of floating pin.

If that pin is to the point where its wiggling and your tank or clearomizer is doing the same thing you need to send it back and get it repaired. On my used Provari I very gently tried to coax the pin back up with a paperclip but it didnt work. The tank looked cockeyed sitting on it but thats the only way it would vape right.

Madvapes sells a 510 to 510 connector for cheap that should help with the airflow problem in the meantime
