Problem with Therion and TC, weak vape

I just got my Therion DNA75 yesterday and it has been a solid performer in power mode, but TC has been a disappointment. The vape is very weak and so are the clouds. I am using a Griffin 25 with dual fused claptons (not spaced) at .30 ohms. I have it set to hit hard for 2 seconds at 60 watts with a temp of 500 degrees. If I put an atty on with spaced claptons the vape is fantastic.

Does one have to use spaced coils when using TC?

Spaced coils are best for TC vapes. Contact coils retain heat which is why they were so popular when mods topped out at 30 watts... or 4.2 volts... the second hit off of a contact coil was already preheated. With the regulated mods available today, spaced coils are the way to go... especially with TC.

Also, the DNA 75 has a fairly low voltage limit (6.2, I think). If you're using a chunky build, it might not be getting enough oomph...

you never stated what wire material you are using for TC. I'm going to assume SS 316. Just know, kanthal/nichrome will not work in TC mode. I've noticed with SS i have to turn my set temp to 500F + to get the vape i'm looking for. Spaced coils are ALWAYS best for TC, eliminates hot spots/shorts.

Up the temp to 480F and give it a try.

I don't have your mod so FWIW, maybe bump the TCR to 120 or so...

I'll have some time to play around with it tomorrow. I will try the same settings with my Lavabox M since it is also a DNA75 chip and see if I get the same results.

I did a new build with spaced claptons and all is well in TC mode now. Yay!

I don't always use spaced coils but I have noticed slightly improved results and coil life when doing so
