So I started vaping back in 2014, went from tanks to sub ohm to rebuilding and vaped 100% VG juice exclusively. Stopped in may of this year and went back to clove cigs for a while, just started vaping agian and I can't vape. It hurts my chest, I cough, it's very unpleasant. I can't touch my griffin 25, the only thing I can vape are my rda (5/6 wrap dual claptons .48-.50 ohms at 55-60w) and that still hurts if I drip too much. I have tried 100% pg, 100%vg, 0 nic, ( usually I vape 3mg), same results. I don't know what to do.

seek a professional. might be time to see a doc.

Agree with this suggestion.

Barring a visit to a health care professional a person might try a mild tea made from an herb commonly dubbed lungwort. It has fuzzy broad leaves that look similar to plantain. Crush two to four leaves of this up and put into a cup of very hot but not boiling water, let stand for a few minutes. Lungwort helps clear out your bronchial tubes and is known as an expectorant. That means you'll cough up phlegm, get rid of the toxins your clove cigarettes left behind. You can be relatively safe drinking two cups of this tea per day until your lungs clear up. If you need to cut the taste of it, use honey.

Ultimately though, you are probably better ahead erring to caution and seeing a health care professional. There might be more going on with your case than simply having residues cause irritation.

since youve been off of vaping for a while, you should consider re-starting vaping as you did the first time... low wattage, tootle puffin type of tank and light hits... rebuild your capacity to handle hard hitting vapes slowly... again.

when I started vaping, I was offered to try a subohm tank at 60W... I took a draw off of it and choked for 5 minutes... but I would do fine with my Vamo at 12W with a Kayfun4.... now, Im working with a IPV5 at 55W and an TFV4 quad coil... took a while to handle this one :)

When I smoked cigarettes I smoked Lucky Strike Non Filter (No I'm not 80 years old, for some reason that's just what I liked). I could smoke a whole cigarette on a smoke break in less than 2 minutes.

If I tried that now I'm sure I would be coughing and gagging for half an hour. Your body has to get used to it just like when you first started smoking.

I agree with the suggestion of seeing a doctor as well as the suggestion of trying to go back to MTL with high ohms/low watts

I can't vape much over 30w. It took me a year to get to 9 watts - that's how bad I found it.
On occasions (having a cold or other infection) I drop right down to very low power and vape much higher strength.
Hard to say exactly why you are struggling, but I wouldn't rule out trying higher strength at lower power just to see.
Good luck :)

Welcome and glad you re joined.
What works for me: In a RDA, building a single coil at 2 ohms (32ga. ~4wrap spaced) and run around 6 w. --Rayon wicks work well 30/70VG.
Nic around 3mg. suggested --start 5.5w and work up until you see a small cloud. It will take about 5 min. to get your coil hot enough to have good performance. After 5 min. consider backing off .2 watts or so.
Your taste receptors can only absorb so much flavor.
