On Lucid Carts: What atty are you using them with? 510? 901?
Any cart to atty solution (particularly the smaller diameter 510 or 901) can be hit or miss. It takes some practice to figure out the best way to set it up (filler placement and amount) for your particular liquid and atomizer. I've gotten some of the best vapes ever via Lucid cart, but I'm not gonna lie...it was a fragile set up...not very portable, and the next time I set up the cart with the same liquid didn't go as well. These are better for something like a 'leisurely after dinner vape'. Not your 'grab and go' solution at all.
On Fluxomizers. What resistance did you get? What type of battery are you using them with?
I've tried and use daily the CE2, Vortex, Vision, Bud Sapphire, etc....
I like them all, but my favorite so far is the Vision Deux because it's so easy to fill...holds a lot of liquid, works really well, and lasts a good long time. I currently use two units, one is over a month old (somewhere around 4 ounces of liquid vaped...it hasn't been 'cleaned') and still going strong. I broke out a second last week. Both work great for me with no problems so far. Easy to fill...last all day or more for me on a single fill. Taste great. I use mine from 3.7v to 4.2v depending on my mood and liquid. With the Vision Deux, just avoid putting a really high acid liquid in them (like cinnamon or really tangy apple flavors) and they'll go and go and go. The next version will use a different plastic, so they'll be able to take the higher PH (acidic) liquids.
Before the Vision came on the scene, I got Giantomizers (or Maxomizers...same carto). From version 3 on, I found them worth every penny, but to me, they don't hold a candle to the Vision series. The Giantomizers are harder to fill, have a mouthpiece that can pop out at random times, and well...while they work OK and look nice, the Vision Deux works better, and is BY FAR easier to fill.
Fillerless cartos in general are more flavorful for me, but at a slight cost in throat hit. They are more geared to short, quick, light draws (as opposed to long burns and hard draws). I sip on my cartos frequently, all day, so the milder TH, short puffs, and richer flavor within that vaping style is a plus for me.
I like the Bud too, but it has an extra fill step or two, and just wish it held more liquid. Then again, changing the scale on these so they hold more liquid would change the way they vape! These are on a much smaller scale than a Vision or Giantomizer, and in turn have a 'tighter draw'. Intense flavor...moderate throat hit. These are everything the eGo T "should have been" as a center wick bottom fed system.
I still haven't tried the latest Fluxomisers with the new plastic type in the outer sleeves...as I still have boxes of older revisions (they last so bloody long it'll take me a year to go through the 3 boxes of 'metal' ones I got). My older CE2s sometimes take a little modding to get going..but once they're on...I go for months problem free with them.
Boge vertical coil cartos are my LEAST favorite of them all. I'd rather have a horizontal coil KR-808 D1 carto than the vertical coil type (Boge/Smoketech), but keep in mind it is all subjective and different folks like different things for different reasons. My main beef with the vertical coil stuff is the draw type and vape texture, plus the fact that I end up dripping in them more often to keep them wet than I do regular carts and atties. I've yet to have a vertical coil atty last more than a few days before it gets rank. The vertical coil stuff is easier for me to 'flood' too (mouth full of liquid). Might as well just drip on a nice 306
To be fair about the vertical coil stuff...
There are BIGGER ones out there these days, I just have not tried them yet. I.E. Echo cartos, and dual coil megas, and on and on. These are ego sized vertical coil cartos with traditional filler in them. Many people are raving about them and the price to try one is constantly going down...so don't rule out giving one or two a try.
If you're into something with a really high PH level....(Strong Cinnamon, or really tart Apple/Citrus flavors):
Just Drip, or consider getting a box of good old fashioned Kanger KR-808D1 cartos. The filler in them can deal with the high acid content. The horizontal coil let you go for a good long time before needing to 'top off the carto'.
If you want to stick with a atomizer/cart combo, the 801 (might need an adapter for your battery) or Mega 510 variants are really nice. The stock carts for these atomizer types are huge and work better for me than the smaller 510/901 stuff. I find that I don't have to mess with alternate fillers to get them working well. I just drip a cart full, shove it in, and vape on for an hour or so until it needs topping again.
When it comes to a bog standard out of the box e-Cig, I think the 801 is the most underrated kit on the market. Put the 801 atty on a longer lasting battery...and it's awfully hard to beat in terms of bang for buck in my opinion.
