I bought a coolfire IV and subtank A, the top filling 3mm kind, have been using the 0.5ohm coil that came with, no problems whatsoever. I then bought a subtank 5, top filling 5mm and retired (binned) my leaky POS kangertech tank (one that came with subox mini, not sure of name). All was glorious.
For a week or so...
Started getting dry hits on the sub A so replaced the coil with another 0.5 (the spare one I got with it). Since then I have had to suck like I'm trying to siphon gas just to get anything, closing the vent makes little or no difference.
Have swapped the coil onto the sub 5 tank, the one from that back, turns out it was the coil. Swapped the coil for another new 0.5, figuring must have been a dud. Finally got both units giving normal hits.
For a few minutes....
Now the one (think it's the one that was working fine that was new with the sub 5) is playing up the same in the 3mm. Have turned wattage up. Not much diff. Now it works about as well as a regular ohm POS bought-in-a-market thin tube clearomiser thing.
Seriously frustrated, especially given what I said in an earlier post. I couldn't be more meticulous with maintenance of the damn things, hell I was wicking RBAs on my old setup, so this seemed like a cakewalk with plug in coils.
Have I plugged the coil in far enough? Yes, it's snug, and aligned.
Have I screwed the cap back on, yes, with O ring tight and snugly.
Have I screwed the tank back onto the batt mod, snugly but not overtightly, same as before.
Interestingly as well, whereas I could more or less shake them without leakage a week ago, both (yeah both) on the same day decide if they're not 90 degrees upright they're gonna piss all over the floor.
I guess I'll have to empty all the liquid out of them, flush them as best I can with the coils removed and just drip test them. That's my day's plans taken care of then.
