So, recently I changed out my coil heads and cleaned the previous one. While I was cleaning the coil head the flavor wicks came out (I didn't think it would hurt so I left them out) for the first day after I put the cleaned coil head back in it worked fine. Needless to say, now it is having horrrible leaking and gurgling problems. So with that being said, should I make sure the flavor wicks are put back in next time I clean a T3S coil head? If there's one pet peeve I have with vaping it is leaking of any kind  and it seems the moment I clean out a coil replacement of any kind it is more likely to leak (might just be me). Any advice or info would be kindly appreciated!

I've been replacing the wick through the coil with rolled sterile cotton. Clip it off right where it exits the coil internals, fluff it out. Put the post and silicone back on, make sure there aren't any open spots. No flavor wicks. Flavor and vapor is vastly improved. Not many leaks and gurgles, though it sometimes does when juice is below .5 ml mark. Has to be something with the air pocket above it. If I leave the clearo on its side when low on fluid, no leaks.

I didn't rebuild the coil lol it's just a coil head replacement, not that advanced yet :p So keep the flavor wicks out? I mean I noticed it performed a little better with them out but if it's going to leak because of that I'll probably just keep them in.

I don't re-coil, either. I just take out all the original wicks, then thread rolled cotton through the "factory" coil on any new coil head. No need to add a flavor wick if you fluff out the cotton and make sure the "square" opening into the coil area is covered. After using cotton, I can't stand silica wicks. Cotton wicks really fast, great flavor. Clean. Just make sure to ease into it (low volts for first ml, then slowly up). Careful not to get a dry hit. Once you burn cotton....

I usually vape 3.7 volts for first tank. Then up to 3.9 - 4.2 depending on juice...with a 2.4 ohm head. Not much higher is needed, as cotton provides the coil with a lot of juice.

When the coil gunks up, I remove the base, stick it on a battery, and dry burn until the cotton comes out easily. Rinse and clean the coil, re-wick with cotton, then use a push pin to separate any coils that might be stuck to each other.

I'm not bothering with re-coil, as replacement heads are only $1.50. I can get a few weeks to a few months off a coil, then use a new one :) If you re-WICK with cotton, you'll probably solve most of your T3s woes. It's a good vape, now.

Oh ok lol sorry about that, didn't really read your reply thoroughly. Hmm I might try that although given my technical skills (which are horrible) I might still find a way to mess that up :(

Also, where would I get rolled sterile cotton? I'm guessing it isn't the normal type of cotton such as a cotton ball. If I can get more life out of my coils that way then I might just give it a shot.

Hey thanks alot :) I have a Walgreens so I'll have to go get some the next time im out. Hopefully it will help, luckily I have a pack of extra coil heads so I'm good at the moment but once they're shot I might try that. What I did was I cut off a little wicking from one of my old top coil heads and used it as a flavor wick in my T3S, so far no issues.

Gonna give this a try on my next T3S and Protank head rebuild...

I've found some of the stock kanger coils kinda fall inside the head, they shape like a hammock from manufacturing. Get a thin pin, slide it through the coil and with tweezers lift up the pin and coil from the middle, after that realign the coil wraps so they are evenly spaced. This is easiest done with a new head, once its used you gonna have to clean and/or dryburn or you won't get the pin past the crusties. Replace the flavor wicks with a piece of 1mm silica either from a old top coil atty or having some onhand.
