I have been mixing for sometime now and I have run into an unknown problem. I mixed three different recipes and they all came to a bust. I have mixed these recipes before and not real sure why this time around they taste so different. Although I did up my E.M10% from 2% to 3%. I have used high %'s of Blueberry before but I'm not sure if it was Wild or Extra. This could be the reason but not totally sure. It tasted pretty good at first after a warm water bath, but the next morning it tasted pretty horrible. Anyone with possible solutions?
Recipe as follows.
Blueberry Wild 12%
Bavarian Cream 5%
Marshmallow 1%
E.M. 3%
70/30 Vg/Pg
15ml total mix

It may be your Blueberry Wild that's causing the problem, since it has ethyl alcohol in it. Blueberry Extra doesn't have EA in it, which is why I've switched to using it instead in my own Blueberry mixes. At your 12%, with EA in it...I'd imagine it would be harsh and/or nasty! The Blueberry Extra should be fine at 12% though. I've used that amount of it in several of my own mixes.

One possible solution for the 15mL you've already made...would be to shake the heck out of it, then leave the cap off for the EA to evaporate off. Do the same thing several times a day, for a few days, and the EA should be gone...as well as the taste being much improved.

I can't offer advice about the EM, as I don't use it for a sweetener. I use TFA Cotton Candy or TFA Sweetener already mixed and ready to use.

Some will argue cotton candy is not the same saying it's EM with an additional flavor added to make it taste like cotton candy. My understanding is it's nothing more then EM and TFAs "circus cotton candy" is actually the official cotton candy tasting flavoring. I can not confirm this or deny it. When it comes to EM if it don't say Ethyl Maltol on the bottle I don't buy it.

TFA Cotton Candy is EM

Is that not the same thing? I was under the impression that TFA Cotton Candy was just EM10% in PG and nothing more...

I know TFA Cotton Candy is made with EM...but it's already mixed and isn't the crystal form that the OP must be using. Thought perhaps he mixed the crystals incorrectly when using them. That's why I said I don't use EM!

Not trying to be jerk but the OP posted EM10% which is the same thing as TFA Cotton Candy.

I made another batch last night and lowered my BBW to 8%, Vanilla Bean to 5%, 70/30vg/pg and 1% EM. Tasted good right off the bat but again I fill my tank up and it taste pretty much flat. I had been mixing for some time now. I was Burglarized late last year and all my recipes and anything related to DIY was stolen. So now that I have all my gear back I am pretty much doing what I did in the past but every batch of juice I make comes out horrible and flat. Besides the Blueberry WIld, is there any other culprit that could be causing the problem? I am not doing anything different than I used to, but the results are very very different.

Ohh 100mg vg nic at 6%

How's the base taste with no flavoring? Maybe something wrong with the base.

Use this process to test your base.

How to adjust your base to reduce that peppery harsh Nicotine taste | E-Cigarette Forum

Usually when a mix taste flat it usually leads to an over flavoring or a steeping issue. Usually vanillas need to steep. You said your supplies were stolen. Did you replace the flavors with the exact same ones as priviously used. Did you get them from the same vendor?

You also said right off the bat it tasted good then you filled your tank and it was bad. What did you use to taste it right off the bat. Could it be an equipment issue like a clogged coil from all the EM you previously used. Try changing the coil and wick.

I don't get this argument over EM I thought we were here to work out the OP's issue!!!!. Why are we arguing over the composition of EM?

Good Lord, you guys will nit-pick something to death! I said I can't offer advice about EM because I don't use it! Maybe I should have said because I don't order it! You want proof that I've always ordered TFA Cotton Candy or TFA Sweetener, but never EM? 'Cause I've got every order I've ever made from Wizard Labs for it, in a file on my PC!

So, excuse me for not offering advice about something I've never ordered nor used! Geez!

By the way...from the Wizard Labs website:

Ethyl Maltol 10% Solution

"Ethyl Maltol Crystals diluted in 10% PG. It has a taste of sweet, burnt cotton sugar candy with jammy strawberry notes."

Which is why I've never ordered it.

IF they are exactly identical in every way...why would Wizard Labs have the "burnt cotton sugar candy with jammy strawberry notes" in the EM10% description only, but not for the TFA Cotton Candy, and have them listed as separate products, with different SKUs?

You 2 can keep nit-picking. I've got better things to do other places than here.

It's posts like yours that just confuse the issue for folks that want accurate answers to what they are using.

This is from TFA's website:

Cotton Candy Flavor
Water soluble.

This is made from ethyl maltol, diluted to 10% in PG.

It is not a strong flavor, since ethyl maltol won't dissolve in PG at higher concentrations. It is used as a mild sweetener and smoother for harsh flavors. Our Sweetener is sweeter than the Cotton Candy.

Come on guys lets stay on track and help the OP. This my friends is not helping it's just driving the thread more and more off topic.

Because the OP could get the impression that TFA Cotton Candy is something different than the EM solution he/her is already using.

I understand your intensions and I shouldn't speak for the op but with all that has already been discussed about EM I think the OP by now has a pretty good idea on what EM is. There are other issues about the OP's process that are also at question and need to be addressed. Please refer to my last post to him.
