This one specifically: RDA Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer

Every time I build a wick, I get a disgusting metallic taste, there is no part of the wire turning red, I've boiled the entire thing included the metal cover for 3 hours one time. (including the wick before I put it on and before I trimmed the extra wire off) I'm pretty sure it's sterile.

I've tried everything from 1.7Ω all the way to 3Ω but it never gets rid of the taste...

Here is my current wick.

to view a larger resolution, you can remove the "?1" from the end of these urls. imgur has a resizing option, however, you can "undo" all the resizing and editing by removing all the numbers past and including the question mark.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you. :D

when you say the coil is not turning red...is that with or without the wick in it. If you have a soaked wick the coil will not turn red. If you fire it with no wick in it the coils should turn red quickly and evenly.

also maybe try a different kind of wick. It looks like silica in the photo's. I found I liked cotton wicks better.

It turns red when unsaturated. It's not the coil, because I use the same silica and wire to make all my other coils and this doesn't happen. It's something to do specifically with this RBA.

have you tried to use a lighter or torch on the kantal before you wrap it. burn it red a couple times and wrap. second are you washing your hands it could b skin oil that your vaping.

Yes, I do that every time. and as I've stated already, it's not anything from me, it's specifically the device. If oily skin is the culprit, all my other wicks would have this same taste.

-----------

I've boiled the the entire RDA for 10 minutes now and most of the metallic taste seems to be gone... but it still feels off.
