After many hours of watching youtube vids and studying how to make the perfect coil i decided to give it a go.
Here is what i am using Kanthal A-1 32 gauge Resistance Wire, and 3mm Silica Wick.

Attempt 1 - Drill-bit method, i took 2 pieces of wick about 3 1/2 inches long wrapped the wire 4 times while holding the bit and wick together... excited and anticipating the perfect vape! i fill my tank and go in for the mother of all vapes and.... 8-oFail, hardly any vapor and terrible taste! ok lets do this again.

Attempt 2 - Pin method, same as before except this time I'm carefull, slowly making my coil i wrap it 5 times make sure no wire is touching... The anticipation is palpable! i ready for the yummy vapor...but again i'm disappointed, starting to regret taking the stock coil off in the first place.... one last try...

Attempt 3 - :grr:Angry method! I just took 2 pieces of wick and some wire and wrapped it like a nutcase! I think i made 7 or 8 tight wraps around the wicks and put the tank back together... This time i have decent vapor at 4.5 volts i usually vape at around 3.7 on my eGo twist, so im just wondering is this the best its going to get?

It sounds like both the drill bit and pen might have been too big. If that's the case, I'd suggest using a small paper clip or a medium size needle and see how that goes.

For my reduxes, I prefer using a drill bit or a finishing nail that's just the least big bigger than the slots to wrap my coil, then use a needle that will fit in the slots to install the coil, then thread in the wick. I roll a really tight coil with the coils as close as possible.

These are all tips I've learned from the 'different cottons' thread. There's also some good info in the 'inside the Drunker' thread.
