Weird one this but I will try my best to explain. I've been using Protanks for ever, the 2 and 2 mini on my spinners no problem, on the MVP's they do not perform good at all. I have made my own microcoils and stock coils not difference. Put the coil 1.8 on my spinner amazing throat hit and clouds of vapor. On the MVP while I get some vapour there is virtually no throat hit, it performs like a spinner does when its nearly out of juice. The mini 2 has an airy draw while the 2 is quite tight, either way they perform crap.

I would blame the MVP was it not for the fact the iclear 30 performs amazingly, throat hit and clouds of vapour, it actually performs better on the MVP than it does a spinner.

I have changed wattage etc but it doesn't help, just goes so far then you get a burnt taste.

I can't figure it out to be honest. I did see another thread on here about this but its closed with no resolution. I should add same issue with both MVP 2 and 20 Watt MVP

Try putting a thread adapter on the MVP.

It's been reported more than a few times that the MVP and VV3 from Innokin sometimes have taller than "normal" threads, so it may be cutting off the airflow by blocking, or partially blocking, the holes on the topper.
The airflow is two slots on the bottom of the PTs base. You can't really block it at all unless you wrap tape around it or something.. ;) My full size and mini PT2s rock on my MVP, but have been knocked out by a couple of Kayfuns now..

the only thing i can think of, is the 510 pin on the mvp got pushed down to an extent and its not making proper connection.

my mvp i gave away fro christmas, but it was the only "weak" point of the entire mvp. as above mentioned, the 510 threads were usually SLIGHTLY longer than standard, which caused the positive pins to not make the best connection. also with the longer 510, i noticed it somewhat blocked airflow on the mvp if using "ego threaded" tanks.

if the airflow is a problem, you can semi sand down the airgrooves with a triangle file to "open" them up a bit for more air.

It sounds like you are not making good contact with the 510 pin. Try raising it. I have a post in my blogs about the contact issue.

Edit: There can be air flow issues with the longer threads, I have to drill out my beloved T2's but if you used a 510 adapter and it still did not work properly then it is not an air flow issue.
