Prodigy misfiring with Tenergy Li-ion batteries (not LifePO4)

Can someone help with this? The batteries that came with the Prodigy work fine, but I bought a bunch of regular Tenergy 3.0V CR123A li-ions and I can't close the unit without it firing. Are they simply too long or is there a way to mod things?

I assume you have no washers in the switch?
Maybe try a screw with a smaller head? IIRC, it is an 8x32 screw. Easy to find anywhere.

What version V3 do you have?

If you have the V3.1, the plastic part of the switch is actually 2 pieces. You can take the round cylindrical part off and use without
