I had a bunch of old atomizers laying on my desk and was testing them to see if any of them still worked. couldn't get any of them to. but when i put on my good atomizer it still wouldn't work. I found out i must have put a flooded atomizer on as i looked at the contact and it was all wet. i thought i shorted the resister as i looked and it was all brown. I broke off the resistor and soldered the connection back but i still can't get it to work. i unsoldered it and resoldered it 3 times and its still not working. even putting on brand new atomizers. could the actual switch have broken somehow? please help. i need ideas on what could possibly be wrong.

Push the button, then stick your tongue on the connector pin. If you get a little tingling shock... your getting power there.

Are you guys trying to kill me???? This is the second time today I'm happliy reading this forum, taking in an e-inhale and I read something like the above and I'm choking the vapor out my nose, ears, eyesockets.... Please don't make me laugh this much... my lungs can't take it:lol::shock:;)8-o

take a picture of the resistor- I want to see what they used-

I've read in another thread they use a 2W 0.5ohm resistor. I've figured the appropriate resistor using ohm's law and algebra. My assumptions were an atty resistance of 3.3ohms, the switch resistor and atty running in series(which is true) , a total circuit voltage of 6V(2 - 3.0V batteries), and a desired Voltage at atty of 5V.

This gave a total circuit current of 1.5amp. This would require a 0.67ohm resistor( to give the required 1V drop under load). To figure out resistor power use P=Current squared * 0.66ohm = 1.5 squared * 0.66= 1.49W.

So a 0.67ohm resistor at at least 1.49W, so the resistor they're using is quite close to the theoretical calculation. Again, this all hinges on an atty resistance guess of 3.3ohm(which, from what I've read, is close)

There is a connectoin loose somewhere- keep ripping int apart untill you find it- I'd look at the connections going to the switch. You might be able to fix it?

stick your touge on it- I like that lol

No, that's cheating. You need to buy one like we did to get that information lol

Why are you posting on the PureSmoker forum if you don't own one of their products?

Kevin

So you're saying that someone has to own a puresmoker product to post here?? Shuning away the possible future customers huh? I would think that prospective customers would be encouraged to use the puresmoker forum to ask questions from current owners, to get their thoughts and insites. So much for being friendly here... I hope Cash does not mind you bullying any possible customers out of his yard...

I gotta agree with Kevin. I don't think he's a possible customer at all. He seems to go around threads "helping people", and then brags his device. Which, he just happens to sell also.... describing it as " something much better". His post sounds like an advertisement, detailing why his PV is better than a Prodigy.
He stopped just short of posting the link to his classified ad.
He should Hawk his PV somewhere else... not here.

In my book, he's kinda crossing the line in the PureSmoker threads.

I appologize if that was the impression you got from that. It just seemed that he was promoting the hardware he owned. It will not happen again.

Well my prodigy is dead and I sent a ticket to casey.

I have to wait for my switch to get to her before i get a new one sent to me?
This is a first for me...not happy.
Lucky I have other mods to hold me over, this may take some time...

Hey Truelove, sorry for the inconvenience with that, but we have a serious switch shortage, and are repairing switches as they come in. Thus, we need the switch first to fix it. We also had tons of customers never send their defective switches back to us after we had already mailed out replacements. Unfortunately now we have to do things this way.

Do you have any idea of when the switches will be in stock? I managed to pull out the two metal pins a little bit and wrap wires around them. I have the wires sticking out of where the button hole is and touch them together to get smoke. It's going to have to do like this for awhile until you get switches in. I can't send the switch back to be repaired as its whats holding the wires in place. I'd rather just keep it like this until you get stock back up.
